My Life in NIT Rourkela

Overall Rating
NITR is one of the premier institutes in India among the 23 IITs and 31 NITs. The institute has great record on placement. The girls to boys ratio is quite decent here. The faculties are experienced. The campus restrictions are too less. You will have enough time to enjoy and do well in academics as well.
 

Academics Rating
For getting admission into the institute, you have to gain a good rank in JEE Main exam. I am in the Mechanical branch. The attendance policy is quite checked here, as it is 85%. There are exams in every 45 days, which sometimes gets hectic. Walking in this hectic schedule makes us prepare for future.
The fee for four your regular B.Tech program is Rs. 9,20,000 for four years. If your family income is less than one lakh, you will get complete tuition fee waiver. If the family income is between one and five lakh, then you will get 2/3rd tuition fee waiver.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are highly qualified from different premier institutes and outside the country. The teacher to student ratio at the institute is quite less like one teacher is for 60 students. Students can approach faculty without any problem. They are easily accessible both online and off-line. The bonding with faculty members is also easy.
 

Placement Rating
Many companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Deloitte, BPCL, Wipro, Gail, and BEL, come for placements in NITR. The highest package recorded till date is 1.2 CPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are quite old and have small rooms. The hostel rent is very less, but there are no modern facilities. Hence, they can be upgraded. The food is quite good. Here We have all types of food (both veg and non-veg). Hostel timings are decent. The in time for first year students is 12 AM.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus size is about 1200 acres out of which 650 is for academic and residential. Classrooms have a sitting capacity of minimum 150. The medical block is quite far from the body, residential hostels, canteen, and other things are also available. My favorite spot is golden Jubilee building. We have a very big library of three floors and it contains thousands of books from genre. The classes are fully furnished with modern teaching equipment and ACs.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is very good. The institute crowd is decent. There are more than 80 clubs and four societies there are many engagement activities organized by institute. The annual fest frequency is five or six per year. Taking part in clubs are not allowed for first year. I loved the campus and I never felt bored in NIT Rourkela. There are many engaging things here. I hope you will study hard and get good rank to come here and enjoy campus and Institute.

    In an overall view, my institute, NIT Rourkela, is a perfect university with an area of 1,200 acres including many more splendid scenic views and amazing water bodies.     NIT Rourkela is among the top institute of India which provide many facilities to the students and enhance them with their skills and knowledge. When I was first come in NIT Rourkela I was quite nervous but after some days I really feel good and love NIT Rourkela so much now.     The experience was amazing here at campus. Various facilities are available at the campus like medical, ATM, grocery shops, etc. I particularly chose this Institute as all know it's a premier technology Institute in India. One should consider this college as an option as you got the exposure and are able to push your limits seeing others doing well in their field.
