VIPS-TC Delhi Placement Cell: Opportunities and Expectations

I joined VIPS-TC in 2020, the Covid year. This institute is true to what I have heard in rumors. There is a cream crowd of Genz along with professionalism among them. If you are here, you are indeed standing out. The institute has an amazing premise. The campus is indeed an epitome of beauty with its huge library, spacious & ventilated classrooms, central air conditioner, and an amazing canteen. The only thing missing is a ground. There is a ground but that is a small one as compared to other institutes. The faculty here is one of a kind, indeed very professional & well educated. Many of them are alumni of VIPS-TC only. So summing one, it is a great institute with a top-class campus and professional faculties. You won't regret joining it, especially for Law. Least did I know that my backup plan of giving CLAT would unfold this well.

Academics, particularly for Law is what it is known for. Here, there are lots of co-circular activities ongoing throughout the semester like moot courts, client counseling, webinars which aids the theoretical knowledge and adds an practical exposure to the students life preparing them for the outside world and real-life challenges. For entering in this institute (in BBALLB / BA LLB), CLAT score is applicable. The rank should range from 5000 to 9000 to get into this institute for a resident of Delhi, for students of outside Delhi the rank should be less. The admission process is very simple, as the admission is through the GGSIPU counseling. 3 to 4 cut-off lists are being released by the institute. Admission is strictly through counseling based on the ranks. The semester is of 6 months in which, one month is utilized for exams, and period of one month is the compulsory internship where all the law students have to intern and get practical court experience. There are a total 10 semesters divided into 5 years. The curriculum is designed in a way to accommodate both practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of law.

The fee of the course changes every year. It follows fee schedule as given by GGSIPU. When I joined institute the fee for law stood at Rs. 1,04,000 but with every year passing has increased by 15 to 20 thousand. The fee is paid yearly before the new year starts i.e. after 2 semesters. The total fee includes all the amounts. There were no hidden charges, which are to be paid. The fee system is as per the university. There was no separate registration fee or charges. The charge for counseling was Rs. 1,200 at my time and that was non-refundable.

The faculty members are quite experienced and are master of their subjects. Some teachers teach so well that it may create a lifelong impact on you. Some use the old teaching methods. If you are regular to classes, you will find the subjects and teaching more interesting and understanding. The faculties have graduated from top law schools and many are alumni of VIPS-TC also. The dean ma'am is very nice and understandable. The teachers give us PPTs and notes. They teach in class discussing the concepts in detail. The doubts are well addressed. There is a mentor-mentee session, wherein we can have a one-on-one conversation with our mentor and discuss doubts beyond studies as well

Yes, there is a placement cell in the institute for each department. For Law as well, there is a placement cell, which actively updates about the internship and the job opportunities. They refer us to some good law firms. However, there are better chances of getting off-campus placements than campus placements. The placement cell of law is known as CCTIP (Career, Counseling, Training, Internship, and Placement). CCTIP also organizes various events like Mock interviews, CV writing, etc. The renowned law firms that visit our campus are Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Amplus Solar, etc. The packages offered range from 3 LPA to 5 LPA. I have yet to sit for placements this year. I hope it goes well.

The institute does not offer a hostel facility. There are independent PGs and flats near the institute. The canteen is made in institute, which serves the top class food of good quality and maintains the hygiene. The price of the food is nominal and true to its quality. The PG students often refer to some local tiffin services for the food.

The infrastructure is constructed in a modern architecture. The glass building of VIPS-TC is indeed very famous. There are mirrors everywhere you see. the ground although very small but sitting there with friends is the best part of institute life, The interior of the institute gives you a 5-star hotel vibes as it is way too good. The library is one of a kind, there are 4 libraries on campus, and the law library is so huge and has almost all the law books in the world. There are a total of 3 buildings in the institute. A new building, which was inaugurated recently, is a technical campus for B.Tech courses. In the Law building, there are a total of 7 floors. Lifts are available in all 3 buildings. There are various facilities like 4 libraries, labs, seminar halls, 2 auditoriums, and a conference hall accompanied by the waiting room. The campus comprises 3 buildings, a small ground, a basketball court, and a canteen. There are many free spaces for sitting for students. There is an underground car parking inside the institute for faculties and outside car parking for students. The campus area is very beautiful. There is greenery around. There are also beautiful and a fountain which is my personal favorite spot to sit and sip in coffee along with friends. There are also small cats inside the institute. There is also a canteen which serves all the of food including Chinese, continental, Italian, and Indian. There is also a coffee shop that serves great coffee and Maggi, which is our go-to dish. There is also a sports room, which provides space for indoor games like table tennis, carom, chess, etc. The institute premises also have a medical room, which provides the medicines. The classrooms are big and modern sitting arrangements along with central air conditioner make it top class. The sitting capacity is 60 students in each class. The institute is overall a beautiful place and something most people boast about.

The best part of this institute is it's campus. The crowd of the institute is the cream crowd of Delhi. These Genz will give you a movie vibe. Everyone dresses up so well that maintains the standard of the institute to the mark. If you want your existence to be marked you need to stand out. There are many clubs in the society in the institute. I was myself part of many. I was president of NSS VIPS-TC, which engaged in social activities. Apart from that, there are 2 fest, which take place every year in which Bollywood singers come and give students break from monotonous studies and work activities. Apart from the celebrity night, there are fashion shows, dance crew, singing, Nukkad Natak, and many other clubs that have events running throughout the year. There was a Diwali mela and ethnic day as well. VIPS-TC is a very happening place when it comes to the events and joyful moments. The campus life is something you will mesmerize your entire life. There is this hangout space popularly known as Hawa Mahal of institute (the name is passed on by seniors) where you can sit with your friends.
