Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Dhenkanal : A Student’s Perspective

Overall Rating
I had a good experience Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Dhenkanal. The factor that made me to choose the institute is their environment. There is a very good atmosphere but due to the national highways side the area has high pollution.
 

Academics Rating
Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is present in a natural environment but due to the presence of National highways on the side of my institute the atmosphere is polluted. The admission process of the students in our institute is on the basis of JEE Entrance Exam ranking. They provide enough time to study but due to vast syllabus it becomes difficult to cover everything.
The fee of my chosen course is Rs. 28,000 per year. The hostel fees is Rs. 46,000 and the registration fees is approx. Rs. 2,000.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are very friendly and supportive. They have studied for higher education in institutes such as NIT’s and IIT’s. They have a good experience about teaching profession. They all are experienced. Their method of teaching is through the black board. They also provide the PPTs in the classroom. The teacher student ratio in Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is 1:10. My bonding with the faculties is very good. They also support me in my studies.
 

Hostel Rating
Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology has sufficient amount of hostels for the girls. But the boys are suffering due to less number of hostels. There are different hostels for different year students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is very old. My institute was build about 50 years ago; this is why the buildings are broken and needs improvement. But new buildings are now under construction in the campus. Our institute also has a play ground.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life is good. My institute is not crowded but there the road is always jam and there is heavy traffic. Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology organizes many curricular activities like athletics meet, annual function, and different types of branch fests. There are many clubs in our institute like robotics club, coding club, dance club, Gunj club, sole club, sports association, etc.

    The location of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is in Saranga, Dhenkanal. It started operating in 1982. Government officials themselves oversee this technical institute. The 179 acres of the campus are fairly large. Engineering courses are offered in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and PhD programmes. The institute has a long history. The professors are highly skilled.
