NIT Rourkela: The Stage for success

Overall Rating
NIT Rourkela is one of the best engineering colleges in India. It has a lush green campus of 1,200 acres. One of the premier College in India out of the 31 NIT and 23 IITs. Among the NIT that is on number one surpassing NIT Trichy. Dealer screen campus and amazing faculty will provide a stage for every student to grow in life. Although the 85% attendance policy is quite strict but the placement record will definitely blow your mind.
 

Academics Rating
Mechanical engineering which is my branch is one of the top branches in NIT Rourkela. The placement records are very high. To get into NIT Rourkela you have to score good in JEE main i.e. score more than 95%ile. This will ensure your entrance in NIT Rourkela with the low branches. Here the passing CGPA required is 5, and the exams are taken twice in every semester. One is mid semester and other one is end semester. Mid semester is of 30 marks and end semester is of 50 marks and rest 20 marks are given by the faculty which is called as TA marks.
The total fee for 4 year B.Tech course is Rs. 9.2 lakh which is Rs. 2.3 lakh per year. Out of this 5 lakh is tuition fees. If you belong to SC/ST category then you will get full tuition fee waiver. If your family income is between 5 lakh to 8 lakh you have to pay two third of the tuition fees. If your family income lies between 1 to 5 lakh, then you have to pay one third of the tuition fees and if your family income is less than 1 lakh then like SC and ST category you will also get complete tuition fee waiver.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are very good with modern equipment, well known with the subjects and gentle behavior. Although the class size is normally very big, they try to reach every student. They go in a slow pace according to the chapter's importance. They will let you know the syllabus very early so that you don't face any problem during the exam. The exam papers will be well known to you if he will read the class notes properly. They share the PPT's within 1 to 2 days and normally teach in class using smart boards.
 

Placement Rating
NIT Rourkela has a placement percentage of 90. The average package here lies between 10 to 12 LPA. In 2024 the highest package was 1.2 CR which was from electrical and communication branch.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels are very good, big and clean. They don't have AC or proper cooling system in the rooms but they have reading rooms and community rooms. The rooms are quite small for two people but the food in mess is quite appreciable.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is quite good and it is continuously developing. Every now and then new franchises are time up with NIT Rourkela campus. Sports hall medical facility and other amenities are quiet close to hostel area and academic area. NIT Rourkela has the use campus size of 12 acres out of which 650 acre is infrastructurezed. Rest is less screen area. Every classroom and reading halls have air conditioning facility and smart teaching boards. My favorite part of college infrastructure is golden jubilee building though it is not yet opened but it is one of the most beautiful attractions in the campus.
 

Campus Rating
In NIT Rourkela, there are so much things to do that you will never feel bored of. The strict attendance policy is 85%. This sometimes hampers the enjoyment of students but it also gives facility to enjoy more than any other NIT. The frequency of fest is very high. You will never feel bored in any of the fest. All the society's conduct their different fests which will give you next level experience. There are more than 80 clubs divided in 4 societies. The overall campus life is amazing and at an IT Rourkela hope you will like it.

    The experience was amazing here at campus. Various facilities are available at the campus like medical, ATM, grocery shops, etc. I particularly chose this Institute as all know it's a premier technology Institute in India. One should consider this college as an option as you got the exposure and are able to push your limits seeing others doing well in their field.
