DAIICT was instrumental in making me rise above the ranks as the college is indeed the best college for engineering in Gujarat after SVNIT. I feel there’s just one area through which one can judge a college and that is placements. DAIICT placements have gone up and above after I left because I left the college in 2015 and till then the placements were average but having seen the strides that college has taken in the last few years, it’s so good to see. I did my PG from elsewhere but Dhirubhai Ambani University (DA IICT) was always missed as one has no choice but to get infatuated with it. The college offers limited courses and even the students are limited and that’s the best part of the college. Dissecting the whole institute in this review has already given me joy as I haven’t forgotten a single moment that I have spent at DAIICT. All the friends parted ways as some went for jobs, some went abroad and some went for higher studies but we all made a pact and are still in touch with each other.

Without a question, academics at DAIICT on most days looked invincible. We were made to do new things in pursuit of gaining something from everything that we did. Take out the history of any institute that ranks among the top and you will see that they have let their academics do the talking. DAIICT did no different because they made academics the strongest and everything just revolved around that. DAIICT have set the trend of making students bold and full of confidence because as an engineer we can never shy away from trying. There was no fragility with the academics of DAIICT and going back so many years down the line, I still remember most things that I learned there.

They did some spells because we literally got addicted to their style of teaching. Everything was discussed in gist and for all that, we were taught on Monday, and Tuesday we did the practical applications of that. It kept on likewise every alternate day. So, each and every class they took created an impact and left no voids as they ensured that students understood what they were trying to teach. In general terms, what one will see is the lesser passing percentage in engineering colleges but DAIICT’s passing percentage was great. It’s not that faculties offered some goodies but students performed as per their expectations because we could have done anything on campus but disappointing them was the last option that we had.

The college may be national as they taught us patriotism too but during DAIICT placement, international multinational companies came like IBM, Microsoft, Frsicon, and others. Since it’s seven years back, one can’t debate the figures that students these days get. IT wasn’t just the only field back then but still, the placements were great. In 2015, the highest package for B. Tech was 18 lakhs. Now that’s some figure as average might be 4 to 5 LPA but students had such placements that they felt no need of going for further studies. There were some disappointing and unfortunate students too like me who couldn’t afford themselves a recruiter of their skills.

The boys’ residence halls were amazing and I so dearly wished that I should have had an opportunity to stay there. Students of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar were not allowed the hostels as even though the college was 25 km from my home, I had no option but to travel 25 km one way. The maximum number of students though were from other cities in Gujarat or from Rajasthan. The college didn’t have outsiders from many states of India as DAIICT hasn’t marketed itself well.

DAIICT campus is huge and more than the size it was the quality of life that the college presented its students with. The labs were furnished and the classrooms had almost everything one could ever ask for. If Infrastructure was a performance, then I would say that the college has performed really well because they have left a lot of free spaces that have been converted into grounds, and gardens. Academic infrastructure hardly needs any mention but it was world-class to make sure that students had many other things at the campus the college has got the infrastructure spot on with nice food mall, grounds, library, and auditorium.

Since it's Gujarat and one can’t expect people to speak throughout in English. So, Gujarati jokes and dialects were quite common on the campus. The college events were amazing but since it’s Gujarat the best event has to be the Garba nights that were celebrated on the first two days of Navratri as the last three days of the Navratri were declared holidays, so that we could enjoy the festival with our friends and families.
