College of Engineering Perumon : Overall Academics and Campus Life

Overall Rating
I choose this college because of the best placement and facilities provided here. I heard a lot about the events and celebrations occurred in this college. And I am so impressed. I also choose this college because it is in my home district.
 

Academics Rating
I choose Computer Science stream because I have an interest in the field of technology. It is better to choose CS rather than any specification like AI, Machine Language and Cyber Security because it may limit our carrier. We have to write KEAM entrance exam for getting admission in College of Engineering Perumon. For CS merit admission we must have a rank above 17000. Students of Rank above 30000 are also eligible to get half merit seat. 2 exams are conducted in each semester and one semester exam.
We have to pay fees yearly. Tuition fee per year is Rs. 35,000 and on admission time we have to pay Rs. 55,000. And yearly we have to pay Rs. 41000 including tuition fees. Top ranked students will eligible to get concession in fees at College of Engineering Perumon.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculties have M.Tech and B.Tech degrees. Some of them are also having Ph.D. Most teachers are using ppt for teaching. Most of the teacher's are friendly to us and they help us to develop our skills also. The teacher to student ratio here is 3:10. Most of the faculty members at College of Engineering Perumon will focus on clearing the doubts of the students and will make sure that their concepts are clear.
 

Placement Rating
Placement of College of Engineering Perumon is absolutely good. Most of the CS students got placed in good companies. There are packages from 4 LPA to 12LPA that are offered to the students. But it is really hard to crack packages above 4 LPA. Most of the student got package of 4 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
There is no hostel in the college. Although, enough hostels are available near to college in affordable fees. Boy’s hostel and girl’s hostel are separately available.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are separate buildings for each department. Campus is moderately big and it is located in a rural area. Classroom facilities are great; every class is equipped with whiteboard, blackboard, projector and enough neat desks and benches also. A big library room is available in administrative block. Labs are also well developed and moderately speedy systems are available in labs. Seminar hall is available for most of the department. The auditorium present in the college is also good. There are good sports grounds and courts in the campus for playing different games.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus experience is good. There are a lot of students studying here. There are a lot of student run and college run organisations and clubs at College of Engineering Perumon. These clubs and societies are available to help college students to develop skills. I am also a part of Thinker Hub and IEEE. Various extracurricular activities are promoted by the college. One of best part of our college is fest and events. The TechFest conducted in our college is massive and there are a lot of events that happen here every week.

    Actually, there are several reasons for choosing this institution. first of all placements, I checked the placement rate of college before getting admission and I found that 60 to 70% of Computer Science students are placed on previous two years.     It is one of the top two colleges in Kollam and that is my first reason to choose this college, and the second one is placements. Most of the CS students got placements in previous years. I strongly suggest the students living in Kollam and would like to study in their home district to join this college because the events, tech fest and other things are far better than other colleges.
