Maharshi Dayanand University : A Glance at my Journey

Overall Rating
Hi, I'm Muskan, a first- year CSE student (2024-28) batch. My experience about Maharshi Dayanand University so far has been decent. It’s a good place if you are clear about your goals and stay focused. The teachers are supportive if you reach out to them, and they complete the syllabus on time. The overall environment isn't very strict, so you can manage your studies comfortably. The campus has all the basic facilities, and the atmosphere is good for learning and personal growth.
 

Academics Rating
In the first year, you will study five subjects and do three lab sessions. The class schedule isn't hectic with about 4-5 hours of classes daily. Attendance rules require 75%, but they're not rigid, and you can manage with valid excuses. The university offers seven branches of engineering, and CSE is most in-demand. Admission depends on JEE Mains scores, and getting into CSE might require a better rank compared to other branches. The curriculum gives enough free time to work on your skills and interests.
The year-wise fee is Rs. 80,000 - Rs. 85,000 approx. You are supposed to pay around Rs. 45,000 for the 1st semester at the time of admission, including all kind of different charges like admission fee, exam fee, caution money, etc. Since I am not from Haryana, I was treated as a general candidate without any reservation benefits and 15% of the total seats are available for the outer state students. The entire fee I will be paying for the course will be around Rs. 3, 22,000 which is different in case you are a SC/ST student from Haryana, a state topper or Kashmiri migrant.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members at Maharshi Dayanand University are approachable and knowledgeable. Many of them hold Ph.D degrees, but most the teaching revolves around finishing the syllabus. They are regular with their classes and explain topics well, but you might need to self-study if you want to go beyond the basics. There is hard checking in the examination and beware of that as they don’t give marks easily. Also they won't teach you everything but will ask those topics in exams so be prepared by your side.
 

Placement Rating
Th placement opportunities seem decent from what senior say. CSE students, especially the top ones, get better offer with some managing to secure package around 8LPA. The average for most branches is 2-3 LPA. A lot of students rely on their own efforts, so it's important to build skills outside of the classroom too.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel facilities are good. Girl’s hostels are better maintained as compared to boys. You get two-seater room with basic amenities, like geysers and Wi-Fi. Mess food is average, and charges are around Rs. 1,500 – Rs. 2,500 for girls. While the hostel isn't luxurious, they are decent enough to live in. The environment is safe, and seniors are supportive, so there's no need to worry about ragging.
 

Infrastructure Rating
One of the best things about this university is its infrastructure. The campus is spread over a large area with greenery all around with labs, sports complex, state of the art library and auditoriums. There are separate spaces for various sports like wrestling, badminton and boxing. The overall vibe of the campus is good. The hostel infra seems to be not well maintained by the students. Although the authorities have made good hostels and hostel complexes.
 

Campus Rating
There are almost no clubs and events in the campus and also you will find the authorities not conducting any fresher’s parties, etc. Most of the fun here comes by spending time with your friends and planning your own activities. Overall you won't find any issues for yourself unless you choose to be involved in bad activities. Get involved in studies and friendly fun and I’d say it's not bad at all. You will make a lot of memories here with your peers.

    My college life was very good. It is the best university that provides you with every opportunity that a student wants. The main attraction of this university is the large size of the campus (622 acres) and also the campus is ranked 1st in cleanliness rating. It has every facility including cricket stadium, swimming pool, athletic track, squash court, tennis court, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, and many more.     My overall experience of my graduation from Maharishi Dayanand University is excellent, and I am satisfied with the type of education and facilities provided by the campus. The education level of the University is also A1. It is a NAAC A++ graded university. You can get admission through your JEE mains ranking, and you need to fill the form from the Maharishi Dayanand University website.
