A Student’s Perspective About IIIT, Bhagalpur

Overall Rating
IIIT, Bhagalpur was established in 2017. All the branches have relevant courses which includes both technical and core subjects. Size of campus is 50 acres. It is a tier 2 IIIT , highest package for 2024 was 26 LPA and minimum was 6 LPA, median package is 9.5LPA. Total fees for 4 years would be around 13.8 Lakh. We have all facilities here like Wi-Fi, library, mess, hostels, labs, etc. but sports are kind of limited.
 

Academics Rating
My course is ECE, I had chosen it over other courses as I have keen interest in electronic and circuit designs. To get here, one has to appear for JEE MAINS and get good rank. If your rank matches the cutoff you will get seat here by applying in JOSAA and CSAB counseling. General students need to have 75% in boards (12th) and SC/ST by getting reservation over seat and only need 60% in boards.
Total fee would be around Rs. 3,50,000 per year for B.Tech. Fee is same for all courses. Institute fee is Rs. 1,31,000 per semester. Hostel fee is Rs. 22,000 and mess fee is Rs. 16,000 per semester. No scholarship from institute but students can apply in NSP and other ones.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties and Teachers are Ph.D holders and have good knowledge of their subjects and are very good except few. For teaching we have Black boards which are very big, we get books required from Library, no need to buy them. One can easily approach to them, just by going to their respective cabins. Seniors are very helpful, they provided PYQs and pdf of the subjects which are helpful for studies. For exams, notes are enough.
 

Placement Rating
We have placement cell of our institute : Training and placement cell IIIT, Bhagalpur. Many companies visit for placement, highest was 26 LPA for 2024 and total placement percentage was good, more than 90%. Companies are: Amazon, Atlassian, Service Now, Infosys, Autodesk, Effigo and many more.
 

Hostel Rating
We have a separate building for faculty residence. College has 3 seater hostels for students, now its 4 seaters. It can accommodate 600 students. We have badminton court and a ground for all sports. Girls and boys hostel are far apart and are guarded well. We have 2 messes in hostel: both are fine, above average. Mess quality is also average. We got served 4 times. Hostel fee is Rs. 22,000 per semester. Hostel timings are 10pm.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of IIIT, Bhagalpur is very modern and looks great. It is newly built. Library is diamond shape building which is best feature of our institute. We have academic building in which all classes are held. Classes have A/C and we have good water and washrooms on all floors. We also have facility of lift. Lecture hall is still in completion. Labs happen in academic building. We have administration building also. No canteen but all basic things are available easily outside the campus.
 

Campus Rating
Overall institute life is good, have good group of friends and regular studies would be better and making fewer burdens on students. IIIT’s schedule is hectic. We have well working clubs: PYC: coding club, ESBS club: cultural, Unnati club: for welfare, AI club, literature, dance, singing and Samvad club. For fests: we have ENYUGMA, which is techno-cultural event of our institute and it takes place for more than a week.

    IIIT Bhagalpur is one of the new IIITs established by government of India. The college has everything you need for a better future. Good infrastructure, sports facilities, coding culture, alumni network, and everything. Many times you might think that it is a new college but it is growing very fast and will be at new heights in the coming years.     IIIT Bhagalpur is an institute of national importance. It carries forwards its legacy of excellence after the IITs and the NITs. IIT Guwahati is our mentor institute. Many a times alumni and faculties from the IIT Guwahati come here for meeting and guiding us. It is a small campus compared to other old IIITs, but it is full of green lush and feels like home to us.
