Placement Success and Affordability at Chandigarh University

It was an overall good experience. I choose this because of the new trend of Data Science and this university gave the course in the most affordable price that is why I choose Chandigarh University. This university has a great ranking and 100 % placement, this was also a reason for choosing this university and also it was close to my hometown so I decide to go there. Also the university had quite a good name and reputation. All other universities were good too but either they didn’t had this course or were not in north India and the fees were very high so I decided to go to that place and pursue the Data Science at Chandigarh University. I learn a lot of new things in this university and got to learn new cultures like from Odisha, Bengal and Kerala. I made many friends there and loved the overall environment of that place and overall it was a great experience for me.

I choose the course because I want to do something new. I started learning new skills in this course as these were paid the most and as per the reports the Data Science was to be the next hit job of this decade. So I decided to enroll in this course and get the skills and as 100 percent placement was a guarantee I decided to go there. Although there were no entry requirements , but for my course a bachelor degree was required as my course was a masters course so I had to be qualify the bachelors and thus applied for it, rest it depends on the course you opt for. Admission process is very simple and you can get easy admission by applying online and get your seat booked by paying Rs. 1000 for registration and a scholarship exam named CU-CET can be given and you can get a 100 percent scholarship depending on which phase of exam you are giving. All the fees can be submitted online and need to be submitted before the semester exams, with an examination fees of Rs. 2000. In a semester there are 2 semester test and then final semester exams.

I don’t recall exact fees structure but for each semester almost Rs. 45000 rupees were paid approximately. I have no idea of exact tuition fees but it can ranges up to Rs. 35,000 and rest I have no idea. Yes, scholarship was available for the students.

The faculty members of Chandigarh University were not up to the mark. I don’t know the exact background of each faculty member but as per my knowledge, some were having there Ph.D ongoing and one two were B.Tech passed and rest I have no idea. They taught on boards, ppt and verbally mostly and gave the lectures related to our course. Teacher was like 15-20 for our batch of 169-190 students. The faculty members here are not up to the mark.

Yes, hostel facilities are available in Chandigarh University for students. I don’t have any deep knowledge about the hostels. The hostels for girls and boys are separate and also very far from each other. It was difficult to communicate while studying and no out person was allowed. Mess food as per my knowledge was good and average. It has a good and hygienic environment. The meal is provided to the students 3 times a day and 1 tea also I guess. Hostel fees were around Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 for 1 year I guess, again no exact idea. There are certain rules and regulations that are required to be fulfilled by the students.

There were so many blocks and the campus is too large and full of different block . Chandigarh University has good infrastructure and good facilities. Campus size is huge in kilometer and it is near Kharar almost 5 km from there, but route is all highways so no worries about traffic except in Kharar. Classrooms were average and there were no AC in the classrooms. Good space and projectors were there in each class. All academic facilities like library, labs and halls were there. There are different canteens in the campus and they offer a large variety of food items to the students. The overall quality and taste of food is nice. My favorite part of infrastructure was canteens and cafés there. Proper facilities for sports and other activities are also available in the campus for all round development of the students.

Campus life was good in case of wondering around the campus. There are new cafés and canteens. University crowd was not that much as it is a very large campus. No idea about clubs. University made sure to have activities all around the year for students. Fests are the main lime light for this university. Many celebs come here for promotion of movies and singers like Punjabi singers come often here for shows. I would rate my experience here (other than studies) a solid 8 out of 10.
