PESU Bangalore's Placement Support is Outstanding

PES University has done its best to keep the courses up to date, and provide you with the best course structure to ensure that you have the hands-on skills required to excel in your placement tests. I will agree that they are a very job-oriented administration, and frankly, as a B. Tech student in this competitive world, that's the best you can ask for. The electives are quite diverse, and the core courses are all super important for a CSE student to know. The best part is that it is in pursuit of academic excellence, but at the same time, promotes extra-curricular activities as well, including promoting clubs like Debate Society, Sports teams and even a reading club. There are ample opportunities to explore in PES University provided you are up to the challenge.

I chose B.Tech CSE because when I was fresh out of 12th, I was in love with coding and was told that CSE is a booming sector to study at this point in time. I got it based on merit from the entrance exam of PES, which is PESSAT, but they have discontinued this exam now. The admission process is fairly simple, once you attend counseling and confirm your seat in your chosen stream, you have to submit the necessary documents and that's it! The examination structure has 2 internals, and one final end semester exam. These assessments are based on the subject too, most of them have theoretical exams but some courses may choose to make the assessment a project, or a hackathon or an assignment. So, based on the structure, the examination process is quite dynamic. As I have mentioned before, the courses and their mode of examination is very career oriented and is quite broad in its coverage of topics and areas that an employer expects you to know and be good at.

The Fee structure has changed now, so I can't give you much information there. They do have waivers and multiple scholarships that are quite generous. Their lowest tier of scholarships is for any student with a CGPA above 7.75 and it’s merely Rs. 2000. The waivers and financial aid particulars can be discussed with the office admin and they'll be quite helpful in directing you.

The faculty I had for my semesters were quite experienced in their field. Almost all of them either had industry knowledge or had done at least 2 degrees in their subject. Making them more than capable to teach us the importance of correct and effective application of our subject, but also were able to solve our doubts with ease. They can also be approached for projects to do under them if you want to explore the field and want to build your resume from the get-go. They use the study material provided and most of the time makes their own PPTs to use in class, which they promptly share with us to study from. The entire faculty is quite appreciative of students with initiative and will be glad to help you with projects, doubts and any other question you may have about the subject.

The placement drive is taken quite seriously in this university, starting from conducting mock placement test, having multiple admin dedicated solely for the placement cell so that they can guide you, having courses available so that you can build your resume. Most importantly, it has a good standing in the industry, hence attracting loads of companies are ready to hire PES students.

The college has tie ups with a 3rd party called "Living space" for girls' hostel accommodation. The hostels are quite decent but the hostel management is tough to work with at times. The fees, last time I checked, was Rs. 1, 00,000 a year with a Rs. 25,000 deposit. The curfew is at 7PM.

The campus is designed with each building dedicated to a stream. And each block is tailored to the needs of that department. The facilities provided include starter kits with basic boards, ICs and wires to help them understand practical applications, having well documented handbooks for the software needed for the CSE students and so on. There are plenty of labs and workstations in case you need that instead of your laptop. The new library is stocked with books you will need throughout your semesters and has multiple copies to allow maximum students to utilize them. There are a few cafeterias within the campus offering a decent selection of food, baked goods and snacks. There are basketball courts, badminton courts, a cricket ground and much more for encouraging sports among the students. The seminar halls are a plenty and of various sizes too, to make it befitting for any occasion.

The campus life is good and active. There are lots of fun clubs you can join, ranging from arts to purely technical. So, wherever your interests lie, you can find lots of paths to take and learn as you enjoy. Personally, I was part of ample clubs that made my college life quite fulfilling and kept me occupied. The fests are super fun, the clubs and their events are super interactive making the day to day routine of university more exciting than mundane. Like I said before, The college has various paths that you can explore. You will definitely enjoy the campus life here.
