Overall Rating
I want to adapt to the culture of Tamil Nadu which has a lot of temples. It is also near to my home state and that makes it easy to travel for me. These factors made me choose this Institute. Overall experience of the Institute is okay. I am satisfied with the Institute. It is different from other Institutions in a way that they treat students. Nature and campus is so good and cool.
 

Academics Rating
Artificial Intelligence field motivated me to choose this Institute. We can get admission through JOSAA counseling. There is no alternate admission process. For any theory course there will be one mid, one end exam, One or two quiz (optional). Design courses help to prepare you for real life challenges. These courses help each and every student a lot to gain knowledge and how to live in the current society. This way it helps a lot.
Per semester fee would be 1.05 lakh. 66 k for academics, 34 k for hostel and mess and remaining fee for others. For gym we have to pay 250 Rs per semester if you are interested. For SC, ST students per semester fee would be 33 k. There are scholarships for SC, ST and few OBC students.
 

Faculty Rating
Teaching wise it is good. It varies from faculty to faculty but all are fine. All faculty members are Ph.D scholars from IITs. Some will use PPT’s, some will use black boards and some use I pads. It depends on the faculty. As everyone is from IITs all have good problem solving abilities. No doubt in it. Teacher interaction with the student is good. Students can ask doubts at any point of time while class is going on.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are somewhat better as compared to last year. The average package would be around 15 LPA. There will be a placement cell that keeps track of placements in the campus. College offers placements for students at the final year. Highest package is 55 LPA. I have no experience of placements till date.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Institute offers residential facilities. There are 3 buildings each with 14 floors. Each floor has 32 rooms nearly but it varies from building to building and floor to floor. Yes, girls and boys hostels are separate. One building for mess is common for boys and girls. No one is allowed in hostel after midnight 12.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus has one academic building, one admin building, one laboratory building. Campus size is around 55 acres, located near kandigai, Chennai. It lacks auditorium but there is plan to construct auditorium. Gym, badminton, volleyball, basketball, cricket, football each has separate courts or grounds. I have one favorite spot which I like a lot. It will be cool and calm peace spot. This is about the Institute’s infrastructure. There is medical center, ultimate store, cafeteria, also night canteen is available.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus is nice and pleasant. Good atmosphere, place to explore ourselves. College crowd is around 3.5 k including B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D scholars. There are a lot of clubs for both technical and cultural. I am part of Imagix, cultural club. There will be technical fest (Vashist) and cultural fest (Samgatha) and Meraki is another fest conducted every year. Every festival is celebrated without any failure. My experience in the Institute is good.

    Overall Rating
    There is a friendly environment in the college between seniors and juniors. Transportation facilities like bus and auto are easily available here. Students are provided with Ethernet ports in each room which has up to 1Gbps speed. Spacious rooms are given for students during 1 and 3 year with double sharing.     Overall Rating
    IIITDM Kancheepuram Or Chennai is one of the top IIITs in country. It has zero ragging policy and also the policy has been implemented very seriously. And also college has a NIRF ranking 8 in innovation and normal NIRF ranking 184 once now it is going to be in between 100 to 150. Here the academics and personal life management is very good.
