Hindu College Delhi Admission Process, Fees, and Scholarships

I got admission in Hindu College in 2023 through CUET. I scored 550/600. However, I never imagined myself attending a college in DU. The college is a very happening and a very vibrant campus. There are students from all over India and even abroad. It is well known for its academic excellence and for alumni being at very prestigious posts in various fields so that was the reason that I chose this college in my preference list. You get to learn a lot, its environment helps in your overall personality development and a very healthy competition.

I am a student pursuing B.Sc (Hons.). I chose this because of my interest in Biological Sciences. You need to be a science student for being eligible for the admission in this course. Admission is through CUET score. Exams are held twice in a year and once in each semester. There are separate practical and theory exams. The course subjects are very diverse and cover almost every topic and the faculty is very well versed in the subjects.

The fee of our course is about Rs. 27,000 yearly. We are supposed to pay once every year. There are discounts provided to students if they are eligible for various quotas like PwD, ward, or BPL. It is open to various other scholarships through NSP, NGOs, and central government scholarships also.

The faculty here is talented. Teachers have done their PhDs. They are either still involved in research on certain topics or are guiding PhD students for their research. They are very cooperative and help with all the doubts anytime. Many professors have written books that students from across DU campus refer to for their academics and many have their papers and research published in very prestigious journals.

Hindu College has many societies and one of them is the placements cell ‘Disha’. Placement cell connects companies looking for recruiting people to candidate in its college premises. ‘Disha’ is very active on ground and has helped students get job in very famous companies like Deloitte. It conducts webinars and seminars with industry experts and mock interviews.

There is also a hostel (girls) within the campus. It is fully functional with around with 200 girls living there. Boy’s hostel is under construction. Hostlers get 4 times meals with all other basic facilities. No one other than residents is allowed to enter in the hostel. There is curfew timing of 10 PM. Students get to enjoy all the events till the end and separate events are also organized for them in the hostel premises to celebrate all the festivals.

College has a very well maintained infrastructure. It has 2 academic blocks where there are separate areas allotted to labs of all subjects. There is a separate research centre where there is restricted entry to only students working on any project under professor’s guidance. There are 2 canteens, and very big sports complex have facility of a ground, basketball court, volleyball court, and cricket court. There is a resting area for girls too with a kitchen, bed, and washroom. A nurse is present in the campus at all times.

Overall, third college provides you best experience in all aspects (academics, events, cultural programs, exposure to the diversity). It has a crowd of top tier of students. There are more than 20 societies in the college that play a very important role in your overall growth apart from academia too. Some of the societies are among the top in DU. The Mecca is the biggest DU event is the official event of this college where students from all the DU colleges come to experience the beauty of this festival. So far, I have had a great year and half here in the college and I have met amazing people who are very smart and teach you a lot. I have myself become more comfortable with taking in front of people because of the open environment of this college that encouraged you to be more yourself.
