Exploring IIIT Kalyani : A Student’s Perspective

Overall Rating
Our institute lack in something that is permanent campus, but good in placements, relation with seniors and all. So I think if you got this institute please come and develop your skills for better future. In this institute all students have came from JEE Mains so we face a friendly competitive environment here that pushes us to come out from our comfort zone. Personally I want IIIT tag that’s why I choose this institute but here I think I made a right decision.
 

Academics Rating
I choose Computer Science and Engineering here because this course offers high packages. For this institute you have to pass 12th with 75% in boards and score well in JEE Mains. Every month we face some type of exams like class test, mid semester, end semester, etc. In JEE Mains you should have fewer than 60k rank for admission in general category at IIIT Kalyani.
Fees are quite high here. The semester fee is Rs. 1,15,000 and hostel fee is Rs. 57,000 per semester. There is no scholarship given by institute.
 

Faculty Rating
They all are highly qualified. All are Ph.D holders from IITs or foreign institutes. Many of them have experience of teaching in BITS, IIT, etc. They all teaches through PPTs. Teacher- student ratio are quite good I think for every 40-50 students there is one teacher.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Actually we don’t have any permanent campus right now. Our permanent campus in under construction which is 50 acres in area. We have canteen in our temporary campus. For sports institute uses Kalyani stadium for playing. The classrooms have a seating capacity of 40-50 students.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life at Indian Institute of Information Technology is average. All time we do coding or studying. For enjoying we see movies, play UNO, etc. We have different clubs like Foss club, GDG club, etc. We hope from next year after having new campus there will be some changes. We conducted fest like hackathon in IISER Kolkata this year. Indian Institute of Information Technology also organises freshers and other events for the students.

    As overall experience I say in one word of IIIT Kalyani is very great as our institute didn't have a permanent campus but its run in an IT park which is very great And our permanent campus is likely to complete in 2024.
