Lakshmi Narain College of Technology M.Tech Review By Shivam Singh

After having an average time in my previous university, I decided to be a part of the best university of Bhopal. A part of the university Laxmi Narain College of Technology is next to IITs. For me, choosing LNCT Bhopal was definitely a turning point. The director changed mid-way, the covid entered in final semester, yet the university remained unfazed by any of these facts and helped us have the best campus placements. From my experience, LNCT has certainly paved the way for many great opportunities in my career. I have changed three jobs thus far, in two years, and wherever I go, all are happy that I have done M.E. from LNCT. Apart from imparting quality education, what LNCT has done is it has helped me shape my thoughts, beliefs, and character. So, to develop a strong personality and be able to stand tall in a crowd, LNCT is the right choice at least if you have decided to pursue your education in Bhopal.

The academics here are worthy as unlike many colleges and universities that offer M. Tech, LNCT offers M.E. which is worth it. The course included all the latest curriculum as per the happenings of the world of technology. Core JAVA, Iverilog, HTML, Oracle, and all the other languages were taught in detail. The best topics taught here include pattern recognition and soft computing. The college is fully equipped with technology and therefore when the lockdown happened the teachers, who stayed at the campus, took classes from digital class bid which I guess was prepared well in advance. Thanks to corona that it was at least used because otherwise, I haven’t seen that for the best part of 20 months that I studied at LNCT.

To know the standard of LNCT’s education, let me share a trivia. All the faculties who taught us were PhD holders as all the faculties who have done just M.Tech and don't hold PhD degrees can teach only 1st year B.Tech students. To be able to qualify to teach here, the faculties had to have a doctorate degree. In my job I have interacted with many people. In fact, even before I started writing this review, I discussed faculties of their colleges and even though they have come from bigger and better names than LNCT, their colleges or university didn’t have this rule.

LNCT Bhopal Placement was very good as only the quality students were given admissions. All of us were sent for internship from college and we all had our bonds signed from there. We didn’t even have to wait for campus placements as it got halted due to Covid. I or for that matter my batch mates were hardly bothered because we all were already placed. We had to inform the college as the college took each and every detail of where we have been placed and what package we have been offered. They don’t count as campus placements but college used it for promotion for their college placements.

LNCT Bhopal Hostels are separate for boys and girls at the campus. There were two boys’ hostel buildings that housed nearly 2000 students. The newly constructed hostel which gets full at the earliest has all the latest amenities including the attached washrooms while the old hostel doesn’t have that. There are AC rooms and non-AC rooms options available. The mess menu was also changeable and therefore repetition was not there. Hostels used to have their own events like Fruit Salad events at the boys hostel and Pasta Day at the girls hostel. The hostellers were allowed to invite their friends to those events.

Unlike JLU, LNCT campus isn’t that big. In 30 acres, the university has accommodated all its colleges. The lush green campus has two multipurpose sports grounds. The building of LNCT and LNCTS are separated but common lectures happen at LNCTS hall as that is the biggest of them all. There are around 8-10 departmental libraries, one auxiliary and one central library at the campus. All the classrooms of LNCT use the latest technologies. The labs here are updated as and when required and core labs are always redeveloping. There are two workshop buildings and even though there was just one auditorium, it was the biggest in Bhopal as it had seating capacity of over 1000 students.

JNCT, LNCT, LNCTE, LNCTS and other colleges had one common fest. The technical fest of the engineering department was the biggest of them all called Planet Engineers. The annual fest was called Srijan and the sports fest was called Shristi. So, LNCT with best statistical placements, is one of the best private universities of Madhya Pradesh. The only problem with campus life was that LNCT had the least number of holidays and also, we could hardly bunk the college.
