About Motihari Engineering College: Fees, Placements, and Campus Life

Overall, my experience in Motihari Engineering College is great. It has the lowest fee structuring in Bihar. The academics are of high quality. Teachers are well educated and knowledgeable. Different academic and non academic events are arranged regularly.

I am a CSE AI student in Motihari Engineering College. I chose this course because I am interested in Artificial Intelligence and Computers. For entry in this college, I have given BCECE exam, which is conducted by Bihar government every year. My rank was around 200 (UR). After getting results, you have to apply for counseling process, which is held in two rounds. If you got a decent rank respective to your chosen college and branch, then you are selected in first round, otherwise you have to wait for second round. You can also join our college based on your JEE Main rank along with participating in UGEAC counseling.

The college has a very affordable fee structure and hence, students from middle class family. The fee of my chosen course, which is CSE AI, is almost same of other branches. There is almost 0 tuition fee. The college charges only Rs. 3,200 as an admission fee for general and OBC category and even less for SC & ST category students. Similarly registration or examination fee is Rs. 7,400 per year for general and OBC category whereas only Rs. 1,400 for SC & ST category. It also adds up Rs. 3,000 to 4,000 for additional charges. These charges also vary for SC & ST category students. There is also ‘Student Credit Card Loan' system for the students who don't have any financial support. Students also avail scholarships like NSP or PMS and get a lot of financial support.

Faculties of our college are good and well educated. Some of them are PhD holders and some have done their Master’s in IITs or NITs. They also have good knowledge. They help us in all types of problems whether it is academic or non-academic. Their teaching styles are also good except some faculties because they cannot explain well in front of students.

Let's began taking about the main thing of any college, which is placement. Yes, we have placement cell in our college, which is helpful for students to get opportunities of placement or internships. However, it needs to improve its service, as number of companies visiting our college during placement drive isless. Only Infosys, Wipro, ACC, and TCS companies visited our college. In addition, CTC offered can be improved or enhanced. Highest package that has been offered is 13 LPA and average is 3.2 LPA, respectively.

Yes, we have residential facilities in our colleges for all boys, girls, and faculties also. We have three boy’s hostels (OBH, NBH, and NNBH) and 2 girl’s hostels in our college. For availing these hostel facilities, you have to pay around Rs. 60,000 for hostel and mess both. New hostels are very good as they have lifts, geysers, water cooler, and almost good mess services. In hostel, there is GYM facilities and indoor playgrounds for Kabaddi and Badminton. The taste of the food is average.

Our college has lush green campus of 50 acres in area. In college campus lots of trees and a huge playground. There is two academic blocks (OAB and NAB). Infrastructure wise, it is 7 out of 10 means it has almost all the facilities, which should be available in an Engineering college, but academic buildings are too old. There are also two temples, one canteen, one stationary, one ATM, and some faculty’s quarters in our college.

Campus life of Motihari Engineering College is great. There are opportunities to enhance your extracurricular activities except sports. There are many clubs different sports clubs, cultural clubs, etc. we organize annual fest like ‘Umang’ in which student gets to participate and engage in different activities. In addition, we also organize different other events like Fresher party, Engineer's Day Saraswati Puja.
