RGNUL Patiala: Placement and Internship Success

My overall experience has been great at this university. It has lot to offer if you are proactive student. It is not a spoon-feeding kind of place, which means you need to hustle to make the most of the opportunities available. The support system is there, and the environment pushes you to grow, both academically and personally. In my opinion, I would recommend this university if you have zeal to work and make great connections.

In your first year, you will learn more BA subjects and fewer Law subjects. Afterwards, you will learn law subjects starting from your third year. Academics are not as rigorous as commonly expected from a national law university. One thing that stands out is the university's library. It has many books related to law as well as personal development. We also have access to online resources for judgments like SCC Online, Manuparta, and many more.

The professors are knowledgeable, but the teaching methods can vary. Some are genuinely inspiring, bringing in real-world examples, and encouraging critical thinking, while others stick to traditional lecture styles. The university does promote research and students are encouraged to write papers, participate in debates, and engage in mooting, which adds up to their academic experience. It is mix but overall faculty is good which you will generally expect in National Law University.

Placements at RGNUL are a mix of effort and opportunity. While on-campus placements are limited, many students secure Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) through internships with law firms, corporate, and advocates. The placement cell is proactive, guiding students in resume building, interview preparation, and connecting them with recruiters. However, much depends on individual initiative to network and intern at the right places. While the process can feel challenging, the support system helps students land decent opportunities if they are willing to put in the effort.

There are hostels at RGNUL. These hostels are genuinely better than what I’ve seen at other educational bodies. The rooms are spacious, clean, and having AC. The buildings are designed pretty smartly. It doesn’t get unbearably hot in summers or freezing cold in winters, which is a relief. They have all the basic facilities you’d need, and the common areas are decent too. Overall, the hostels make for a really comfortable and stress-free living environment. We have a badminton court in boy’s hostel but there is no court inside the girl’s one.

Campus life is great as there are various centers as well as committee, which one can join. There is music as well as a dance society. There is an annual sports fest, which is 'Zelus'. Fresher’s party is well organized, making new students comfortable. There is intra sports fest as well like Penta League. Apart from these big events, there are smaller activities, workshops, and competitions happening throughout the year that keep the energy on campus alive. It has a close-knit environment. While studies can get intense, these activities ensure that there’s always something to look forward to. Overall, the campus offers a vibrant and engaging experience if you’re willing to get involved.
