My Life in MUC Women’s College

Overall Rating
MUC Women’s College, Burdwan is a renowned college in our area. My overall experience was very good. Though most of the time passed in the lockdown, still the days I got to attend the college before pandemic were too good. Most of the girls choose this college for its good hostel facility and helpful faculty members.
 

Academics Rating
My course was 3 years B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics in CBCS system. It included 6 semesters. We have to give one mid semester exam and one end semester exam in every semester. The eligibility to be enrolled in this program is to pass class 12th board exams in Science stream having minimum 50% in desired subject. The whole admission process was online.
 

Faculty Rating
Department of Physics contains 5 faculty members in this college. All are very much helpful. They teach us very well and clear our concepts. They also motivate us to think beyond the syllabus. We can contact them whenever we need help. They never gets irritated.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our college has a heritage campus, which used to be the House of Queen many years ago. Despite that, it has modern laboratory, library, smart classroom, computer labs, etc., making our college unique. The library contains a great number of books of various subjects, latest journals, magazines, etc. There are 2 main buildings along with a playground. There are 3 laboratories in my department for students to do practical experiments.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is very nice and calm. In December, the college fest ‘Jagriti’ takes place for two days. Students participate in the cultural programs and also show us their creativity at the academic level. Those two days are very different from the whole year. The college becomes lively and crowded. Besides this fest, in January, winter sports tournament is also held which is also a good event.
