LNMIIT B.Tech Review By Aditya Dhawan

LNMIIT provides an overall development of student in multiple fields like creative which majorly includes graphic designing, video editing, art and craft, instrument and vocal. Another field like sports which includes cricket, badminton, football, volleyball, kabaddi, table tennis, basketball, chess, etc. This is appreciated by having a college team for the same which encourages students to take part in those. LNMIIT also has various clubs which builds the overall personality of a student by inculcating different skills in them. Some clubs include robotics, art, helping needy ones, orchestra, content writing, photography, quizzing, etc. Lastly, talking about academics, LNMIIT is known to have a vast coding culture which is also one of the reasons why I took admission in this college rather than an IIT.

Currently, I am in first year and enrolled in the Computer Science Engineering Course with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The college provides special attention in the field of coding by teaching C+ programming. In 1st semester followed by Data Structure and Algorithm. In the 2nd semester which plays an important role in job interviews. As per 2024, for enrolling in CSE core, a student has to acquire a minimum of 48k (around 97 percentile) rank in JEE main. The enrollment ceases with Mechanical Engineering branch around 93 percentile.

As per first semester, we are taught courses related to all fields which cover math, electronics, mechanics, mythology, English communication and programming. The faculty members for all courses are having Ph.D. degree in their respective fields. Some teachers focus on the theory part more while some teachers focus more on how to solve the questions which come in exam. Other than that some focus on the practical part which is applied in the daily life. Personally, I feel that most of the teachers here teaching at LNMIIT focus more on the theory part, skipping the application part as most of the tutorial lectures are also substituted as theory lectures for syllabus completion.

The campus is divided into many sections which include the academic block, 4 boys hostel and 1 girl’s hostel, 3 messes with canteen area having 4-5 shops with an indoor restaurant, etc. The campus also has a barber shop. There is an Open Area Theatre (OAT) for various functions/fests organized by seniors of the college. The college also has walking track all over the campus for morning and evening walks. There are different courts and grounds too for the respective sport. Moreover the college has a small temple and a 24-hour clinic inside the premises.

Overall the college keeps the student busy even on weekends by different types of talks, fests and events organized by seniors and faculty members. LNMIIT has mainly 3 fests of their own – Plinth (Tech fest), Vivacity (Cultural fest) and Desportivos (Sports fest) which are organized around end of January. Till then, students are kept busy in different club activities. Some clubs are Cappricio (Musical club), Imagination (Photography club), Pheonix (Robotics club), Quizzinga (quizzing), Media cell (Content writing club), Astro (astronomy club), Literary committee, etc. The college also provides the students with various alumni talks and speeches by speakers from a renowned Institute for a greater exposure about the job world.
