Overall campus is good. We have standard facilities available at our hostels. Institute campus has its own shopping complex, ice-cream parlor and many more to come. This institute is an IIT, this tag has its own value also institute faculties are experienced, and one of my senior also suggested this so I opted for the institute. Others should also come to the institute as its placements are good, alumni are at great positions and also seniors are good to help juniors. The campus is a ragging free campus. Hostels are good. Academics are also very good.

Institute academics are well and good. Institute is mainly focused on its academics and gives less priority to fest and games compared to academics. Institute’s students excel in tech things. Professors also are active and engaged with the students. They are always there to help the students. There is a separate academic section in the main building which regulates the mail and queries regarding academics. My course is Electronic and Communication. There are 56 students in this course for each batch which is less compared to other courses. This course requires less than 6000 CRL in JEE ADVANCED examination. People who are genuinely interested in electronic gadgets, their development and formation opt to enroll in this course.

Professor of ECE are experienced in their respective fields. Many of them have their own start-ups related to semiconductor things. Professors are skilled in teaching. Their way of teaching is interactive and acquires an active participation of the students. There are separate professors for labs and theory. They are mainly from IIT and NITS. Professors also help in research. They give opportunities to M.Tech people to be a technical assistant in labs and have experience accordingly.

Institute management has their own career development cell which helps the students in getting placed. Many top companies like Google, Flipkart, etc. come to the institute. This cell helps to connect the companies with the students to get better placements.

We have residential facilities at our campus. The hostels are new and feel like living in apartments. First year students are given the new hostels having mess in the ground floor. Each hostel include one stationary shop, one fruit shop, one night canteen and one barber shop at the ground floor for the residents. Hostel management provides indoor game equipment like carrom board, chess, bats, balls, etc. Bathrooms and water facilities available in the hostel are also good. There are total of 6 hostels for boys and girls and one includes married couples.

IIT Bhubaneswar’s Motto is accepting differences so all the buildings and lecture halls follow that. There is a main Building consisting of 5 floors. Every floor has their specific purpose. One floor for reading rooms, one for central library and others for academics and registration processes. There are two lecture halls, both are medium sized and one is being made which is large sized. All hostels are well maintained and good. There is a student’s activity center that includes Indoor games i.e., badminton, table tennis, gym, etc. inside SAC there are rooms available for multiple purposes like meetings and discussions. There are shopping complex and shops available inside the campus. There are respective schools for different branches which include labs and research. As a second generation IIT constructions are still going on and buildings are being made.

Overall campus is very large having an area of 965 acre. Population is not that much according to the campus size but strength is increasing for each program annually. Total campus strength is about 3000 which seems to be less for a 965 acre campus but campus peoples are good and there is peace in campus. We have 3 fests in a year but now that is converted to a single fest comprising of three different motives one for cultural, one for technology and one for annual functions. Clubs in the institute are also good having capable representatives at the head positions. Seniors help to improve and teach new skills. There are many clubs including sports, tech and cultural like singing, dancing, drama, literature (both Hindi and English), spiritual, Robotics, Finance, business, etc. Other engagement activities include DJ nights, Diwali productions, Jamming with bonfire, Open mic events, celebration of various festivals, and more. Every student has to select one option among NCC, NSS (Social Work) and NSO (Sports) in their first year and Yoga is mandatory for all.
