Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women B.Tech Review By Gamya Sree

I've admitted into this college in oct-2022. It was a great experience while I first visited this college because of its environment and infrastructure. Full campus was surrounded with greenery. Coming to the year 2022, my college had highest placements and stood as top 10 colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Coming to security, it’s high in my campus especially for girls. As we seek quality education and security for 4 years, SVECW stood 1st in my filtered list. So it made me to choose this college. If you are a girl seeking for better education and security, then you can go with this college without turning back.

Coming to academics, the management of this college provides a great faculty who had done their Ph.D in a particular domain. I never say all faculty are well in their teaching, but as an under graduate we have to explore the things on our own to compete with this fast changing corporate. But most of the faculty members will guide us well. For women who are going to face corporate after their B.Tech, the management introduced a program called "WISE (Women In Software Engineering)" where we can explore python related real-time project with hands-on experience. And also to get placing in "product based companies", we need a great knowledge in coding. For that, management running a program called "C & DS" where the students get a thorough knowledge in data structures. This college has all kind of laboratories where a student could be able to gain knowledge on particular domain. To enter into this college we have to gain a better ranking in "EAPCET" for convener seat and management seats also available for who are not ranked better in "EAPCET".

Faculty was good. The college management will only take the esteemed faculty members based on their qualification. Almost every faculty contributes their work in engaging with students and filling the knowledge into student’s mindset. Most of the faculty members are student friendly. We need to engage with them in a good way to get better insights related our projects or academics. Most of the faculty members have done their Ph.D, someone are doing now. Faculty members are regularly trained according to current booming technologies since they do not have all these things during their studies.

Yes, We (Our College) have a placement cell containing the PTO's to look after into campus placements. Though it was recession, we got 70% placements till now in our campus for my seniors (2021-2025) batch. Placement cell members try their best to get a placement to a student. Now, some of my senior’s sisters got multiple offers too. In comparison with the other surrounded colleges, ours is ok with the placements till now as a tier 3 college in a rural area.

Hostel life was good. Infrastructure of the hostel rooms was average which is 4-sharing or 3-sharing based on the hostel we choose. Fee structure was different for every hostel according to the luxury providence. 24 hrs hot & cold water availability, 24/7 power and good environment with sanity is provided here. There is regular cross checking of every student with allotted warden for girl safety according to hostel guidance. There is an App (mobile application) for every student called "Smart Campus" where the outing history of every student can be monitored by both warden (for hostel purpose) and HOD (for educational purpose).

SVECW had a good infrastructure competing with IIT's and NIT's. Recently our management started a separate laboratory for AR &VR for CS students. We have a mechanical lab where mechanical students can contribute their knowledge on the equipment provided there for vehicle designing, etc. There are four academic blocks named Block-A, B, C, and D where different kinds of branches / departments are located in different blocks. We also have an "IDEA LAB" where students can contribute their work on a real time project irrespective of branch. There is a special program named "BAHA" where boat sailing & boat race will be held in the south campus where we have a lake. There is a music school, gym, and swimming pool, basket ball court, driving school and a mini-plex in our campus for student's extracurricular activities.

My overall experience was very good till now and I have many more things to explore here. There are many student clubs for student engaging with extracurricular activities related to both technical and non-technical. Coming to fests, our college is the best college to celebrate every event so big with all the student coordination. Every activity is engaged with every student based on the students’ interest.
