Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences BBA Review By Anushka Dhasmana

Before taking the admissions here, I discussed many Colleges with my family and friends like Mount Carmel College, Alliance University, Christ University, and Kristu Jayanti, among others. After having many sleepless nights, I decided to join MSRUAS as I was left with fewer options and MSRUAS was the best among those. The first batch of the University wasn't even passed out when I joined, but the group of which this University is, I always knew that magic will happen here sooner or later. Please don't sound like a promotional person, but MSRUAS circa 2017 was better than circa 2015 and 2016. The gist here is that University kept getting better and better with every passing year. Firstly, an international styled course that takes some doing to get through. The University, in pursuit of trying and finishing as hard as it can, they did everything to ensure that students feel safe and have no fear of any kind, be it a good hostel life or placements. Honestly speaking, those were the only two fears I had, and one of them was assembled so well that I hardly missed home.

The university never took itself out of the responsibility of academic ship as MSRUAS direct competition was MSRIT. Academics were okay as they were doing better than many of the Universities that I have mentioned at the top. I will call the academics here the summer of 42, because the MSRUAS style of teaching and getting students into classes was a lot different than the others. All the classes that were held were recorded and students missing it on genuine grounds can have access to the footage at University ERPU. Every time I talk about the academics of MSRUAS, I will say it was competent that at some point in time, it might take a stand with the likes of the best Universities of the world.

When I am talking about the faculties of MSRUAS, I am purely talking about how they taught. My relations with some of the faculties might not have been as strong as I would have liked, but no questions or no evil thoughts about their teaching style. Many faculties had the experience of teaching management subjects in international Universities and they were aware of such kinds of studies that happened at MSRUAS. Faculties were the figurehead of the University as they brought the right balance in the University.

I have talked about circa, but the only problem is 2018, 2019, and so on have been better than 2017. I passed out in 2017 and the placements then were not that great. B. Tech students matching placements of M. Tech students is nothing new, but BBA students matching MBA placements is not happening in my life. So, placement-wise, the University couldn't do amends for us, but for the students who have joined lately are going to enjoy some decent placements.

Everything at the University is taken for granted because the academics were good; the faculties were great, placements below average; but the hostel was better than the above three aspects for sure. The hostel found a way to call us, okay, even when it wasn't. Yes, the curfews time was strict at the Star Hostel, which was off-campus. I stayed there for all three years and many students went to independent houses, but I stuck to the hostel as I made some good friends. The rooms and food part of the hostel was taken care of by the University. They did that well, and if the curfew time was extended even by an hour, I would have given it 10 on 10.

While enrolling at the University, we all are insured and there's a hospital at the campus where we could go and get ourselves checked. Infrastructure, on the whole, is a gun as the MSRIT campus have taken most of the accolades for providing better facilities but MSRUAS is right with it, as the management has taken infrastructure quite seriously. A world-class canteen has been built and the best part is one can avail many dishes that are served at the canteen at very reasonable prices. A dosa at the University canteen costs 30 bucks while getting the same quality dosa at the same price is not possible. So, from classrooms to sports grounds, everything at MSRIT is taken seriously before getting it built.

I had friends at MCC and Kristu Jayanti and they said they had a horrid campus life, but I was lucky that I boasted a campus life of ours. I rather enjoyed more of the hostel life because staying at the off-campus hostel meant we had to leave the University by 6 pm as that was the last bus to the hostel. Not much of an event or competition, but sitting and having fun with our classmates at the student lounge was enough for me to call campus life a good one.
