Indian Institute of Management MBA Review By Kangana Roshan

I am pursuing my MBA at IIM Sambalpur. I am presently in my second term. Through the first term, I have found myself in an experience where the classes were really useful and brought in great insights from all the faculty members. The lectures here are really effective, helping in bringing in valuable knowledge and perspectives. Moreover, the guest lecturers organized for the academic program added valuable insight with real-world learning and industry expertise.

So far it was fun as well as hectic, trust me first year is damn hectic but filled with a lot of opportunities to flourish our career. Exams are every 45 days, a lot of quizzes and projects are held here and you will have to be really active throughout the MBA life. Case competitions will be there you will have lots of mandatory sessions to attend. But it will worth it all.

Our professors at IIM Sambalpur are really well qualified; most of the professors have a Ph.D in their areas. We get to experience their individual talents and styles while teaching us, which have added depth to our learning experience. the faculty for marketing has been out of this world, always giving us exciting and enriching sessions that connect pretty well with us. The business communication and marketing teaching have been absolutely fantastic, thus creating a fantastic foundation for our career.

IIM Sambalpur has a placement cell which is very active for all of us, as this Placement Committee helps form the career opportunities. A series of events have been conducted including some insightful guest lectures by which we have gained deeper knowledge of the industry. In order to prepare the students effectively for placements, test series have been introduced, and mock interview sessions have also been conducted to give practical exposure and make students more confident for actual interviews. The committee toils day and night so that we are best-prepared and given great opportunities. Till now, over 34 plus companies have visited our campus. The hard work is well reflected by these efforts in terms of giving a bright future for our careers.

Our hostels are some of the best equipped among all the IIMs. We have air-conditioned and all facilities, providing for an efficient mode of living and studying. The rooms also have three variants of lighting, and the hallways have motion-senor lights, making it handy and energy efficient. The facility of the hostel is excellent as a whole. The administration is prompt and very responsive to problems, so everything is hassle-free.

IIM Sambalpur campus is very large. This newly designed campus boasts lush greenery and serene environment. Our classrooms are equipped with cutting-edge technology: six whiteboards, two projectors, and a large screen; and ceiling-mounted microphones to make for seamless interaction. This innovative and well-planned campus provides an excellent setting for academic and sports facilities as well. We have a big sports complex with gym as well, with a huge football ground and boating pond as well.

The campus itself is fantastic, as I mentioned earlier, but in terms of campus life, it's quite different from what you might expect if you're comparing it to urban settings with vibrant nightlife, clubs, and parties. IIM Sambalpur is located in a rural area, surrounded by a serene and peaceful environment. Since the place is located remotely, very few hotels, or clubs exist near it. The closest landmark to it is a Goshala, which goes on to show how remote this area is.
