Life at IIM

Overall Rating
Overall good experience at college. Faculty is good. Campus is really pretty but placements are average. Academics are really hectic as classes start from 9 am to 6 pm and sometimes it exceeds even more than that. You will not get enough time to improve yourself and for self study. The location has less connectivity as the airport is far from the college.
 

Academics Rating
Academic course structure is really good but hectic schedule. College time is 9 am to 6 pm and sometimes more than that so you will not get enough time for self study. You will need to utilize your time very precisely as you need to submit projects, report on guest session, attend lectures and live project, etc. There is an academic committee for your help if you are facing a problem academically.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is really good and visiting faculties are also good. They are interactive, helpful and are always there to support you. The academic committee is for students help. They can connect you and your faculty. The lectures help are for 90 minutes but there are some faculty members who are just satisfactory, not that good. You can use YouTube for reference videos and better understanding of the topic. Even the seniors use it for better understanding and revision during exams. The seniors also explain you and clarify your doubt during exams.
 

Placement Rating
Placements conduct a lot of sessions with industry people and always try to give more information about industry culture but placements here are mediocre.
 

Hostel Rating
Best hostels, really good environment, individual room is allocated and above all full security is provided.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Built really good campus with great facilities. There are cafeteria, sports complex, hostels, and other facilities. The hostel rooms are really well equipped with AC, cupboards and table, bed, high speed Wi-Fi, etc. Common rooms in the hostel are the center for having various fun activities, watching TV, playing games, talking, study purposes, etc. The refrigerator is also provided for stuffs to save like sweets, curd, milk etc. There are a lot of security guards all over campus to ensure students safety.
 

Campus Rating
Campus is really good. Infrastructure has lot of facilities but location wise very low connectivity as airport is far away. The nearest one is at the distance of 18 kilometers. You won’t get things available easily from the neighborhood but online delivery is available here. 24/7 security all over the campus is provided and it also has cafeteria where you can get food at 3 am too.

    Firstly coming to the college Infrastructure, It is really good and aesthetic which represents the Sambalpuri culture on the walls of the building. Coming to the hostel we have single sharing rooms with AC, study table and chair. The faculty teach well and we get great insights. We have guest lectures that are organized regularly.     I am pursuing my MBA at IIM Sambalpur. I am presently in my second term. Through the first term, I have found myself in an experience where the classes were really useful and brought in great insights from all the faculty members. The lectures here are really effective, helping in bringing in valuable knowledge and perspectives.   • Why IIM Sambalpur is different?

    I chose IIM Sambalpur, and the only reason was that my teacher said me to choose it among the ones I converted. IIM Sambalpur is a baby IIM, and yes I thought whatever facilities are provided us here are just normal as other IIMs, but after 1 or 2 months I realized that it was not the case. IIM Sambalpur is built on 200 acres, and it is built really beautifully and is hardly 2 years old. When you enter, you will be truly mesmerized by the beauty of our campus.
