I gave my JEE exam in 2021 and got 98.1 percentile and joined NIT, Patna. I chose this because its placement was good at that time, and it is close to my home. My experience here is good as it is a got opportunity to meet people from different parts of our country. We really enjoyed here. NIT Patna is located in center of the city so we always have many options to do. We find everything without nearby searching too much. There is also Ganga river besides our campus which is good place to hangout. I with my friends always use to go there. If you have no problem with small campus then you can definitely join NIT, Patna but a new Bihta (125 acres campus) will be soon build for some of our 2nd and 3rd year students. Study there but soon all it will be shifted so this problem will also be solved.

Academy is not very tough here as compared to other colleges. They will tell you to maintain 75% attendance but till 50% also you can survive with the help of medical. In the last semester it does not matter. Maintaining CGPA is not tough here. If you start one week earlier CGPA of 8 above is easily possible here. Classes are ok. The teacher will come and teach you. If you wish you could study and if not invest your time in building your skills like DSA, web-development, ML, etc. Having backlog is very rare if you just go and sit and write something then also you will definitely pass. NIT Patna offers courses in B-tech, M-tech, MCA and Ph.D. B-tech courses are computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, etc.

Faculty members are ok. Some are good and some are not like everyone. If you wish to study you can study from every teacher. If you ask for help they will never deny it. There are total 162 faculty members in NIT Patna, 27 professors, 28 associate professors, 93 assistant professors, 7 assistant professors (grade -2), 5 assistant professors (grade-1) and one deputy librarian.

Yes, we have placement cell at NIT, Patna and it is responsible for conducting assessment and schedule interview here. When I joined NIT, Patna in 2021 the placement was good. In 2022 also it was good. I will be passing in June - 2025 and till now in CSE-branch only 50-60 students have inter offers out of 200 and 30-40 have full time offers. In core branches like mechanical nearly 70 percent students are placed.

Yes, we have hostel facilities in NIT, Patna. For boys there are mainly three hostels. Brahmaputra - it is the biggest one nearly 1000 students live in this hostel. It offers double sharing rooms. Some- rooms in this hostel are three or four seater. Kosi- three seater rooms for girls. Ganga - rooms are 3- 4 seater in this hostel. Mess facility is provided in all these hostels. The food is mediocre.

The area of campus is 36 acres. There if separate buildings for each department including a separate mechanical workshop, computer center. A central library is also here that is open from 9 A.M to 10 P.M all the seven days of the weeks. Besides that there are two cafeterias and two canteens inside the campus. A separate basket ball ground is available. There is a big ground for outdoor activities like cricket, football, volleyball are played on regular basis. Unfortunately we do not have separate grounds for these sports. But we have a SAC (student activity center) where indoor badminton courts are available. A big auditorium is here for college events. A gym is also inside campus which is free of cost but you will not find all equipment and it is little crowdie.

Campus life is good as we always have something to do. We have various technical and cultural fests like corona and mélange. Every year intramurals is organized where each department participate in sports and cultural activities. If you perform well in any games then you also get selected for inter NIT teams which will give you opportunity to compete with different teams of other NIT’s. We are not allowed to go outside hostels at night and hostel gate closing time is 10 pm for boys and for girls it is 9pm. Girls also have to sign in the register whenever they go out of campus. The campus is crowdie you will find crowd in each place because of its small size. This is a pros and cons at the same time where you will find everybody quickly.
