Guide for Admission in B.Tech at NIT Rourkela

Our institute named National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is one of the best institutes, which I have come across until now. It has NIRF ranking 02 in India among the list of NITs. It has a beautiful and green campus. Professors are supportive and they are always available for us. It has a lot of clubs, stadiums, and many facilities, which are necessary in a reputed institute. I am from Metallurgy department, so I can say that for my branch this is a best NIT in which one can go. Recently, it also organized two fests named Multiethnic fest and Innovision fest, I learnt a lot from these two fests. I really applaud this institute for new engineers and youth.

You should have to give JEE Main as an entrance in this institute. If you scored more than 95 percentile, then you are secured to take a good branch and a good future in this institute. You should have got more than 75% in your 12th boards as per JEE Main criteria. Here you can apply for B.Tech, B.Arch, PhD, M.Tech, M.Sc, and many more. My motive for enrolling in this institute to secure a good job and build a good career.

There are many professors, faculty members, and staffs in our institute. The way our professors teach are really awesome. Faculty members deliver lecture based learning, research oriented approach, interactive teaching, project based learning, and blended learning. I am in Metallurgy department in which I can say that our professors are very good at all. You can learn many things in this institute.

Yes, we have a placement cell at NIT Rourkela. Every year, any students got higher packages from different companies in different departments. This year, ECE has a highest package of 82 LPA in our institute and CSE has a highest package of 55 LPA. Our placement rate is much better than all the others.

Yes, NIT Rourkela has 12 hostels in which 8 are for boys, 2 are for girls, and another 2 are for married couples. The hostel in which I am stayed, it is the second largest hostel in whole Asia according to our professor. In each hostel, there is a gym, playing room, reading room, TV room, music room, a stationery shop, a night canteen, a day canteen, and a mess. All the rooms are well maintained by the caretaker.

Our campus is such a beautiful campus. It is surrounded by hills, green forests, and trees. There is a pond inside the campus. The buildings, blocks, and departments are much beautiful. Our institute is the second largest institute in engineering institutes among the IITs and NITs. It has different buildings and blocks for different departments. There is also a library and students have access to the library for 24/7.

If I can say about the experience of my first 5 months in this institute, I would say it was amazing. I found to many intelligent students and their skills are enthusiastic. There are many fests in my institute but Innovision fest is something special for NITians because we can see a perfect use of technology and skills in this fest. Clubs of this institute are also good. If you once come here, there is many opportunities to do something special in your life, you have to just come in this institute.
