My views about Assam University, Silchar

Overall Rating
Assam University is one of the best universities of North East India. It provides various courses in different areas. It is also developing day-by-day and growing rapidly. It is situated good location because its near Silchar, the second biggest city of Assam. It has best faculty and teaching staff.
 

Academics Rating
As a central university, Assam University has 42 departments with many courses of UG, PG, and PhD courses. University accepts admissions based on CUET score. In some courses university also organize their own test. There is only one exam conducted in every semester. Several cells, clubs, committees, and centers are active and organize various competitions and events.
 

Faculty Rating
Here faculties were best in comparison to any such university they care about students and their life as their own wards. All are very humble and down to earth and ready to help every students in any path of life all the students feels very fortunate as they got the best faculty of the world most of the faculties have doctorate in their field and a lot of experience almost all the faculties are permanent .
 

Placement Rating
Yes, every department has a dedicated placement. Two of my seniors were placed in a law firm. In addition, we are expecting more campus placements from this year onwards.
 

Hostel Rating
There are 11 hostels for both boys and girls with good infrastructure and resources. There are GYM, Wi-Fi, geysers, water cooler, badminton court, reading room, common room, and generators for power backup, mess facilities, and many more things. There are hostel rooms with single occupancy, double occupancy and triple occupancy. There are no AC rooms available.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Assam University has good and clean green lush campus of 600 acres with well-equipped infrastructure and resources. There is one whole building dedicated to library and reading room, which is known as Rabindra Granthaghar. Every department has its own library in building premises. Some rooms of library are equipped with AC but the library and classrooms are not fully air-conditioned. University also has various playgrounds and gardens to sit.
 

Campus Rating
Assam University offers a good campus life. Various events and festive celebrations are organized by different departments and committees, as there were 42 departments. Throughout the year, there are events like Aikya, Auskirti, Scientia, Techfest, etc. All the festivals are celebrated in the university with joy and enthusiasm. Being a central university, there are students of different regions, communities and religion and all of them celebrate their culture with full of joy.

    Overall Rating
    Assam University in short AUS is a central government university run by the Indian government. It has a very beautiful campus but according to me many central universities have better campus then this. So I’ll suggest you to only come if you don't have any better campus. The campus is green but not cleans, and especially if you are not from Barak Valley the food here will also irritate you and that is for sure.... Read Full Review

    The view of this university is very good. It is located in a mini hill area and it has a huge range of biodiversity in its campus. I chose this university because it was the nearest university from my home and I was suggested by others to get admitted here. It is a central university and also has A rating by NAAC.
