I am a first-year student at Thapar Univeristy and my experience has been actually good. My decision of opting for this University was good. The one and only problem with Thapar is actually the high fee structure but the teachers are good, seniors are really helpful, and there are many societies to join. The coding culture is surprisingly competitive and extensive. I also chose this university because it was close to my home making it convenient for me travel to and fro. You can choose this university the fee structure is not a problem and Thapar can be a good alternative if you did not get desired university.

To enroll in Thapar, you need to navigate to its official website and fill-in your details. The admission is based on JEE Mains score and 12th standard marks. Higher the score, better the branch offered. There is also a quota for Punjab students. Different branches have different fees. Computer Science, Computer and Electronics, etc. have higher fees than other core branches. For any confusion you can contact them through the contact details given on the website. While filling the application form make sure the preference order for the specialisation is right. There are various rounds of counseling organised, so keep an eye on the website. Once registered, they will update you regularly through mail.

Faculty members are really helpful and educated. Most of them have doctorates from IITs and some are IITians. They have a good knowledge of their respective subject. Also, you can approach them whenever you want. Some of the teachers can be difficult to understand but most of them are polite. The faculty members also encourage the students to take up projects and internships.

Thapar does have an actively working Placement Cell. Many companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc. visit Thapar for conducting placement drives. The Placement Cell also helps students to prepare for interviews. However, you may not expect a really high paying job with on campus placements. The highest package recently was 55 LPA. However, if you also try for off campus placements, it can help and give high paying offers.

Yes, we have hostel facilities. The hostel life is amazing. The rooms are really good, well-furnished and clean. The entire staff is helpful and supportive. Laundry service is also available. The hostels also have gym facilities and gardens.

The infrastructure of Thapar is really beautiful. Classrooms are spacious, equipped with smart board, and comfortable benches. The labs are also well equipped. The Computer Science department is very well constructed. The library is the best place to study and is beautiful and spacious. There are so many spaces to eat and enjoy with your friends. There are various shops available for purchasing daily necessities and a salon present as well.

Campus life at Thapar is very enjoyable. There are many events organised by the constituent institutes and various societies are actively functioning. Saturanalia, the biggest event of Thapar conducts different activities for students including games, hackathons, competitions, etc. Fests are organized wherein famous singers are invited to perform. Thapar also celebrates various festivals and cultural events. Clubs try their best to engage students with daily activities and fun events.
