LPU B.Tech Review By Harsh Upadhyay

I never felt that LPU has weighed down on any expectations students studying there have from the University. LPU has so many eyes, and so much pressure is on the University to deliver than the students. Thus, one thing that will be guaranteed at LPU is not the best facilities but the best placements too. LPU is a flamboyant University as the student strength here is unimaginable. Nobody can do that guesswork, but if I include all engineering departments, there were 10k-plus students. Thus, the total strength, including all the courses, will be 20k or more. Managing 20% of those crowds at their residential facilities and catering to that many students to have a ball at the campus, only LPU could have managed to do that. Wait for placements and fest was the only anxious part as otherwise, the University has offered not a quality campus life but quality placements to deserving students, too.

The University has introduced their entrance called 'LPUNEST'. The CSE department is the most sought after one requiring the best score in the entrance. We were told that one needs to have over 200 to get admissions in CSE, but students with 150 too were allotted CSE seats, but of course with some caption fees. The day was divided as pre-lunch. We used to have theory and post-lunch, practicals. We got enough breaks in between as all the important topics were discussed, and the ones of lesser importance were told to study on our own. Honestly, speaking, only the topics that were discussed in the lecture theaters came in exams. Practicals were always a surprise as we were asked something we were not taught, so many self-studies and research are required. Seniors are of great help in such situations, so make sure to see some of your seniors before the practical exams.

Having such a large number of faculty who always thrived for success was so pleasing to see. They were clear on one thing, that B. Tech is a basic and that we all should prepare for GATE and get admissions to M. Tech. They helped us out with how to prepare for any competitive exams and what all material we should research. Our faculties helped us in that. Their teaching was great, and the help that I received from them in choosing the right career options was the biggest favor they have given to me.

Placements at LPU are great, and many students were placed with dream packages from LPU. Students getting International placements of packages worth 20 lakhs and more is not sparse at LPU. Companies like IBM, Microsoft, TCS, Wipro, and others have visited the campus for placements since its start. They have got the quality they need, which is why they have made LPU their first choice, at least in the Colleges of North. 50% of the students were placed, and considering the number of students that study here, the numbers are great. CSE department placements are the best in the University as other department placements are below par.

At LPU, hostels of both kinds, like the AC and non-AC hostels, are available. I stayed at the AC hostels, in which plastic chairs, a wooden table, almirah, iron beds, a hot water facility, and most importantly, attached washrooms are provided. One thing for which LPU should be credited the most is that they haven't compromised on student's comfort, and thus only the best facilities have been provided by them. Other things available in the hostel include a clinic, a hospital, a study room, a TV room. The food was also great and especially the dinners, as it was a buffet with many veg and non-veg food options to choose from.

Under LPU's roof, you will have all the required things. The academic Infrastructure doesn't need any special words because it is quite special. From the non-academic facilities, the best part is the hostels. Then comes the food mall as to have food ready for at least one-fourth of the College strength, the restaurant has to be at bay. The sports stadiums are grand, and the auditoriums and open-air theater are again a masterpiece.

Tons and tons of events are hosted at the LPU campus. It can be anything from academics, sports, or cultural events. If you are into dancing, acting, or singing, you will get plenty of opportunities to perform. The sports lovers can practice all year round, and then they get many opportunities to show their pyrotechnics in the sports. For geeks, many technical wizard competitions with handsome rewards are organized annually. Thus, one can have a development at the LPU campus. Yet, one will have to use the resources provided by the University. For the laid-back, it may look like another University. At least use LPU for some good reasons.
