Overall Rating
The Institute is established in 1926 which implies it has great alumni network. In my case I have JEE advanced rank CRL 3427 and Gen EWS rank 390. I wanted computer science engineering so I had only this option as the optimal one of both, branch and college. If you are looking for a good branch you have to compromise with college and vice versa. Above all you need to have a rank under 2000-5000 in JEE advanced.
 

Academics Rating
The entry requirements is JEE advanced. First you have to clear JEE mains then you have to clear JEE advanced only then you can fill JOSAA counseling. Based on your rank you will be allotted colleges and for branch eligibility you can say you should have scored 75% in board exams.
 

Faculty Rating
In my college faculty is average nor good or bad. The professors at the college have experience of 10+ years. Some of them are best at teaching particular course.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the placement cell in contact with various companies and they provide on campus placement.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel is good but the mess food is not good in my college. Infrastructure wise it is the best. In terms of recreational activities there is a student activity center which is the best thing of college in regular day life.
 

Infrastructure Rating
In my college there are 16 departments and the oldest department is mining department. Earlier the college name was Indian school of mines department and now that building is called heritage building which is considered as most beautiful place of the campus. We have a new lecture hall complex for classes, Nac new academic complex. Our Library is one of the biggest technical library.
 

Campus Rating
Fests: Srijan (cultural fest), Concetto (technical fest), Parakhram (sports fest). The clubs in the Institute are: LITM, WTC (dance club), Manthan (music club), Artfreaks (for arts), Photofreaks (for photography), Abhay Dramatic club for drama, Cyberlabs (technical club), Roboism (for robotics) and we have NVCTI which is the best place of campus for overall campus and student growth.

    First of all it should be remembered that it's ISM before IIT. Overall experience is better. As a South Indian I felt difficult to connect with Hindi language and also to the food as most of our diet is filled with potato. The experience about studies is good.     Generally all know Indian Institute Technology is the best colleges in India which we get after clearing JEE advanced exam. Indian Institute of Technology which is also called as Indian School of Mines is a better college for future and has good scope in the future.     Up till now my overall experience is great. You get a lot of opportunities to explore. You can join any of the clubs that you are interested in and could grow in that field.     The campus of my collage is very beautiful. It has a lot of facilities and the canteens are just amazing. The faculty and the study model type are also very interesting and fabulous.     Overall Rating
    There is a perception that IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is a new institute, but reality is the polar opposite. It's the third oldest universities amongst all IITs; hence, it does not have any issues that the new IITs face. The institute has clubs for *everything* that you would ever want! These are well established old clubs that win awards every year!
