My overall experience is a combination of academics, cultural activities, and endless opportunities for following one’s passion and explores various domains. I chose IIT Kharagpur firstly because of its legacy, it is one of the top IITs of India. Then it has so many societies and clubs for each activity for likeminded students to collaborate and build something productive. In addition, IIT Kharagpur is capable of providing excellent facilities for research and development as well. These were my reasons and I believe they can be same or different for others but I can say one thing, no one will regret coming to an institute like this.

The course Integrated B.Sc-B.Ed has been introduced in IIT Kharagpur from 2023. It aims at preparing the students to become future teachers equipped with right teaching tools and methodologies as per the New Education Policy. Entry requirements are similar to other courses. The admission to this course is through NCET exam.

Faculty members are efficient at what they teach. Sometimes if the pace or topics get difficult for the students, they help them by explaining it in simple terms and giving examples. They are well versed with the subject and textual knowledge. The style of teaching differs from professor to professor but each of them is helpful.

Campus has excellent infrastructure development. Each domain has been given in different buildings for example, Education department would have separate building from Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and so on. These departmental buildings as well as the academic buildings and blocks have all necessary facilities for efficient conduct of studies and other activities. There is Gymkhana as well for other than academic activities.

Campus life is one of the most important parts of the institute. It cannot be felt with words. It can only be experienced live. There are fests, workshops, seminars, programs, game activities, etc., throughout the year to keep us busy and keep our lives interesting. Long walks at nights, canteen hangouts all are part of that.
