MBM University, Jodhpur: One of the best State Government College of Rajasthan

Overall Rating
MBM Jodhpur has a very strong Alumni network, and it is the oldest Government college in Jodhpur. It has a good reputation. Our seniors manage various responsibilities of the College. They are very helpful. Many activities take place regularly in the college which gives us good opportunities to explore our interests and talents. The College is really strict in terms of Examinations; there is always a fear of ATKT or Back in subjects which keep us motivated to study hard. College infrastructure is not so good.
 

Academics Rating
Admission to MBM Jodhpur in B.Tech course can be taken through 2 ways; first is REAP (direct admission to the 1st year), and the second is LEEP (lateral entry in the 2nd year). Cutoff for admission to the specialisations in descending order is CSE > IT > AI & DS > ECE > ECC > EEE > ME > CIVIL > CE. Core branches such as Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, ECE have an extensive academic curriculum; and as I heard from the seniors that ECC, EEE, ECE, EE are the toughest branches in MBM because of their comprehensive syllabus.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is very experienced. They have completed their Masters and Ph.Ds in their respective fields, but they are strict in nature. Most of teachers take regular classes but few teachers don’t.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are decent in MBM. Majorly they prefer students with good CGPA and those who have no back in their academic records. Students in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical branches get good packages, as their average package is of 8-9 LPA. CS and IT students get an average package of 7-8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
I am not a hostel resident. Hostel facilities are available for the students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is not so good as it is a very old college. Our LTH (Lecture Theater Hall), where our 1st year classes are conducted is not in an average condition. Departments such as CSE, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mining, etc. have classrooms with modern amenities. Architecture building has the best infrastructure in our College. Library and Gym are also available in the college.
 

Campus Rating
College conducts few activities. Functions such as Techfest, Music Fest, Annual Fest, Sports Fest, Cultural Fest are less frequently conducted. Mostly Freshers Party and Farewell Party are organized by the respective Seniors and Juniors. Clubs such as Pixellens, Alankar, Kalakriti, Pratibimb, Sargam, and Zenith are actively functioning in MBM. Campus has good greenery and arrangements to enjoy with friends during our free time.

    This university is Rajasthan's oldest university. My experience here is average, as it has an average infrastructure needs development. As per statistics, the placements are good and there are many clubs in the university helping students to develop their personality. Overall, this university is a standard government university.
