A University in Punjab that has produced a stunning turnaround than 'LPU'. Yes, the intake is high, and the placements are not 100%, but let's be honest, the only University in Punjab that has given hope to students and redefined the meaning of a University is LPU. The University runs buses all the way down to Phagwara, Ludhiana daily as I am from Ludhiana, and traveling daily by University bus never looked tiring. Infrastructure wise, it is one of the largest, and faculties wise, it has one of the most qualified faculties. In terms of scholarships, the University awards as many scholarships as one can dream for. LPUNEST score defines your scholarship percentage as one needs to have at least a score of 200 to get admission to CSE. Those who score above that get scholarships ranging from 10 to 50%. Students who have represented their state at the national level get 100% scholarships. The fees are high, but the cost to study is justified by the kind of facilities that the University provides.

CSE is one of the hottest courses, and for that, I searched for the right Institute. Often when you search right, it ends at the leader, and LPU for sure is the leader of the pack. There were 80+ sections of CSE and the only course of the University for which one block was not enough. The Computer Science and Engineering Building was a 9-floor building equipped with the best classrooms and labs to make studies easier for us. Internships were a part of the academics as we became eligible for internships from the third year, and come the final year, we were ready for placements.

To cater 5,000+ students of CSE, there were around 500 faculties that taught CSE students. So, the ratio of faculty to students was fair. By all means, I honor all the faculties under whose tutelage I studied as their work ethics more than their degrees were imposing enough. With so many students to teach, anyone can get burdened, but at LPU only the experienced staff was hired to ensure that students never face tough times with the faculties. I would say they did many things well, even when some mischievous students made them scratch their hair.

I don't judge a leader by results, as the University made us clear that students who have maintained seven or more CGPA stand a chance to appear for the interviews. The filtration after that narrowed down the bridge between the number of students left and the placements. So, after filtration, around 60-70% of the students were placed in companies like Adobe, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Infosys, among many others. After the placements happened, I know that there were more giggles and laughs than the frustration of not getting placed. The kind of approach that a University needs for this generation of Universities is dust offed by LPU, the best.

I haven't counted the number of hostels that were there in the University, but believe me; no less than 2,000 students live on the campus. The campus is on the outskirts of Jalandhar, and boys still stayed at PGs, and all but girls who were from other cities or states used to stay at the hostels. The ratio was less, but still, hostels have made lives easier for the girls who wished to travel from some other places to study here. Even without seeing the hostels, I can bet they must be the best, as everything else at LPU is gold; then how can hostels not be the one.

Positive reinforcement is what the campus of LPU gives as not it is one of the largest but to travel around the campus; it feels like we are in a New Jalandhar town that has a mall, tuck shops, salons, sports arena, and whatnot. The buildings are repaired almost every other year and labs are upgraded when required. Everyone likes to see some good buildings with some nice food joints and sports lover's facilities that can help them grow in the respective sports that they play. At LPU, you will be ensured of all that as the Infrastructure of LPU is second to none.

One thing about the campus life at LPU is that you will never be under the pump here. Whenever I was stressed about my studies, I found my mojo elsewhere. I can't even remember the fests and events that happened because go to the auditorium and you will see some departments are ready with their skits. Almost all the societies of the University compete against each other at the LPU annual fest 'Youth Vibe'. To ensure that the ones who lose don't go with their heads down, the fest's final day is celebrated with many prominent celebrities performing to entertain the students of the University.
