My Experience at BIT, Ranchi

Overall Rating
It was overall a great experience. I was reluctant to go so far away from home but my dad wanted me to go and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever took. The placement opportunities were a favorable point to be honest. At the end it proved as well, lots of my batchmates got into their dream companies.
 

Academics Rating
I was enrolled in B.Tech program in Information Technology, Computer Science department. I had got into this through JEE Mains marks and rank. The eligibility criteria is to have minimum qualifying marks in JEE Mains and then it depends on crossing the cut off the institute has set for each department for enrolling in B.Tech program.
 

Faculty Rating
The professors taught with serious demeanor but it was reliable. With each year the subjects got more intense department wise and professors were teaching more in a practical manner and less theoretical. The library contains lots of resources so my suggestion to all the new students would be to go to the library whenever you feel you would need more context or content for any topics to understand.
 

Placement Rating
The placements opportunities were one of the major reasons to join the institute for me. Our batch placements were just after COVID so it was a little harder with some of the tech giants not being a part of the program this time but still for our batch the percentage of the students getting placed was between 80-90 percent.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel experience was good and the helpers and the people who cooked and served food were so sweet. They really took care of me when I was away from home so I'll always be grateful to them. We call them maasi and they literally been that for us.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very beautiful. One my favorite place till date. I had so much fun while walking through the enormous campus. There's lots of greenery and peace as well as strategically built classrooms, labs, and training & placement cells. Every department has their sections allotted and the library is huge with good amount of resources.
 

Campus Rating
It could be easily described as the best time of my life. I will always remember it fondly. I learned a lot, had fun with my friends and enjoyed the beautiful campus life. In first year it was thrilling and without much worries, later on it got a little heavy and hectic with all the future worries but still the best time.

  • All You Need to Know About BIT
     

    Overall Rating
    I got a decent rank of 27000 in the JEE mains, 2023. I was hoping to get ECE in PEC Chandigarh, but in the last round of CSAB I couldn't get it. My next choice was BIT Mesra. I could have got AIML but during counseling I had no idea about this branch, so I had chosen ECE. Apart from this the college, infrastructure and campus are very beautiful and good.     This institute’s environment is very good. All my friends here are good too. The people of Jharkhand are also very helpful. The institute is situated in a peaceful environment.     I am from Ranchi, so considering my rank and all other factors; it was the best available choice for me to choose BIT Mesra. My session started in September 2023, initially in 1st month we have to go for SIP (student induction program) every day after first half classes where we get information regarding various clubs, college placements, academics, and various things.
