SVNIT, Surat has a great respect in the market as it’s an NIT. Overall, this institute has all the facilities and pros that a JEE Aspirant dreams about in an NIT. The curriculum here is balanced and has NEP Applied across most of the branches. This institute has B.Tech, M.tech, Ph.D, M.Sc, etc. The institute also has various clubs, fests happen here frequently, Many Sports tournaments, a Cricket Tournament. The institute helps students in every way possible from academics to extracurricular activities.

I am a student of B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence which is the newest among all branches here. The Curriculum of the branch is based on New Education Policy; so, Students don’t have to study extra subjects which are not of their use. The course and subject match the CSE Branch Subjects, but this branch has more coding related subjects than CSE. All the AI & ML related technologies are taught here by experienced Faculties. In AI, the major focus is on coding, and students are taught logic building from the very first class. If we talk about other branches Mechanical, Electronics and Communication and Civil Engineering are taught best here after CSE and AI Branch.

The faculty here is fabulous. The teachers from all the branches are talented, experienced and have a lot of skills. The AI branch has amazing faculty who are graduates from IITs, NITs, and IIITs. They have great knowledge in their respective subjects and know how to make students understand complex topics. The teaching methods might be similar to faculties of different institutes, but the difference is in willingness to help students grow and their educational background.

SVNIT is well known for its placements. It also ranks among top 7 NITs in terms of placement records. Many well renowned and numerous startups visit SVNIT. The highest package was 52 LPA in 2024 and 12-15 LPA in CSE branch. Apart from that, many students also start their own startup and some of them pursue higher studies to get into research.

The in-campus hostel facilities here are not up to mark according to the fee we pay but I would say they are still good. The mess food here is usually not monotonous and has a good taste. There are 9 Hostels out of which 8 are boys and 1 is for girls. Here students are provided both single and double occupancy rooms. Every Hostel has a Small Playground for Volleyball and Badminton and has some space around trees to sit.

As NITs are known for their infrastructure, SVNIT also has a well-developed infrastructure. The academic buildings, labs, grounds and roads are well maintained and have all necessary facilities. CSE, ECE, Chemical Engineering and Physics branches have newly made buildings and others are getting renovated one by one. Every class has projectors but ACs are missing in the classrooms. The campus also has an amazing library which is the best building here.

The campus is vast and has 250+ acres of land area. If you want to be close to nature, this is the place. The campus is lush green and has many trees, the roads are always shaded by the trees, and the campus has Peacocks which can be spotted regularly. The crowd of SVNIT is really good as students have given one of the toughest exams, JEE Advance. The campus life is amazing here as many clubs and major fests such as Sparsh, Kashish, CHRD are organized here. It also has clubs such as Technical and Non-Technical Clubs, NCC Clubs, and sports clubs. Sports tournaments frequently happen here, and the campus has a big Central GYM. The engagement between freshers, seniors and even with alumni is helpful.
