PTU: Best Placements, Faculty, and Academics

Overall Rating
Puducherry Technological University is one of the best universities in the region to pursue B.Tech. The college has best infrastructure compared to other colleges. The students are very skillful here. The colleges situated on the East coast road (ECR) of Pondicherry the exact location is Pillaichavadi. This college has B.Tech (9 streams), M.Tech (multiple streams), and PhD.
 

Academics Rating
To join this college, we can apply through two methods. One is CENTAC and the other one is JoSAA. CENTAC is for the students who applies with their 12th marks and JoSAA for the students who apply with their JEE marks. In, Bachelor of Technology, there are 8 semesters in 4 years. We have to write two semester exams in a year, which are conducted in 6 months of gap.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties here are well versed. Most of them have completed their PhD in their respective fields. They interact with the students and provide best knowledge. They provide freedom to the students, which is usually utilized properly by the students. Their lectures are very good. Their teaching methods are usually understandable.
 

Placement Rating
University has a TPC to train and place the students so that they can have better future. Some of the good companies like TCS, Cognizant, and Zoho will be hiring our students. The placement percentage of computer science department is around 80 to 90%.
 

Hostel Rating
There are four hostels in which 3 are for boys and one for girls. The hostel's food quality is quite average. There is a shopping complex near the hostel where students can get snacks and stationery.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of this college is quite average because this college was built around 30 to 40 years ago. The building, which has good infrastructure, is the admin building where Mechatronics department is also situated. There is a canteen for students to have their food. The campus covers an area of 200 acres (approximately). There is a central library, which has more than thousands of books.
 

Campus Rating
The students here get time to explore the college and develop their skills. That is a beach in front of our college. There is an annual fest organized in the month of March called "Rejouir" which is a well known among the colleges in Pondicherry.

  • A brief review of PEC Pondicherry

    Pondicherry Engineering College is heaven for the students who step into college for their Bachelor's Degree. I chose Mechanical Engineering through CENTAC Merit results. Here mechanical is widely considered and placements are also up to the mark. I recommend other students who completed their HSC, to choose Pondicherry Technological University for their higher studies so that they get an enormous amount of knowledge in their respective degrees....     Overall Rating
    Life at PEC would be a more fascinating one because of the freedom provided there for the students. They would get detailed knowledge on their respected course they choose. The most important thing which attracted mine was their method of teaching. The teachers here are PHD hence they will provide all their knowledge to us. Each year PEC will be conducting sports activities and cultural events so that students can participate and win which would increase the interest in college life. So overall ... Read Full Review
