Often referred to as the Mother College for the Commerce and the Economics students, the Shri Ram College of Commerce is the ideal choice for commerce education in India. My experience at SRCC has been wonderful and nothing less than perfect. The college provides the right mix of academics, extracurricular activities and personal development. Something that made me choose SRCC is its outreaching reputation and excellence that it offers.

There isn't a question of SRCC's academic excellence, especially for courses such as B.Com (Hons.) and Economics (Hons.) which are aimed at developing the competency in finance, economics and management. It has a very high cut off score which is around Class XII (95% or above), thereby admitting only the best students to the college. The Eligibility depends on the CUET scores followed by high cut off requirements. Studying here puts students in contact with an industry-oriented curriculum that develops the requisite analytical and management skills for future career development.

The faculty at SRCC is its backbone. Talking about the B.Com (Hons) course, with most of the professors being highly qualified with considerable work or research experience, they are not just knowledgeable but also easy to approach. They utilize new techniques in teaching methods, integrating the theoretical aspects with practice to make the classes interesting and insightful. Several faculty members are career researchers which enable students to work with cutting edge technology. Students praise most teachers, but some of them think that there could be some improvement in the level of interaction in lectures.

Placing students in top companies after graduation is not troublesome anymore, thanks to SRCC's placement record. With the help of an effective Placement Cell and a strong alumni network, the college garners top firms like McKinsey, Deloitte, EY and KPMG. Even the average package is quite appealing, and average packages increase every year. There are equal opportunities for internships, thus, allowing students to gain practical experience of their preferred career.

The hostel facilities are quite decent and offer good accommodation for the students. The rooms are in good condition, its surroundings are secure, and the hostels have basic facilities, but the inadequate number of seats makes it difficult for many people to get a place. The food that is provided in the mess is satisfactory, but some students think that there needs to be more variety and better quality in what is served.

The infrastructure of SRCC depicts traditional architecture as well as contemporary designs. The red brick structure has well furnished classrooms, a central air conditioned library, equipped computer units and an auditorium with advanced technology systems. There are plenty of sports complexes and green areas for leisure and enjoyment. The campus canteen serves a range of dishes, but it is very busy during rush hours.

SRCC is busy with activities and has cultural fests such as Crossroads and with several academic forums as well. It offers aesthetic attractiveness because of the surrounding. It has a beautiful time and space offered by its complex natural beauty and a well-known 'Orthodox' clock tower. The lively community which has several active student societies makes sure that there’s a lot going on, which enhances imagination and leadership qualities.
