JU: Best Choice of My Life

Overall Rating
In my initial days, I had some language issues but by the passing time, I overcame this issue due to my seniors. The best part of Mechanical Engineering is senior-junior interaction, which helps us in personality development and many other problems. Our university has both Engineering and Arts courses for which every year, more than 3 thousand students apply and are willing get admissions.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Mechanical Engineering branch (BE in Mechanical Engineering, which is a 4-year course). I have GMR of 810 (WBJEE) and of course, I was allotted this university because of my All India Quota for domicile students (West Bengal).
 

Faculty Rating
Our departmental professors are listed in top 2% scientists of the world (an annual report by Stanford University). Many professors have done their Master’s from IITs, NITs and foreign universities like MIT, Oxford, etc.
 

Placement Rating
Our university has a placement cell. Our department has 100 % placement with average of 10 LPA and highest package of 27 LPA (offered by Gupshup for the post of Software Engineer).
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, Jadavpur University provides hostel facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are many buildings in our campus. All departments have their own building. There are machine shop, canteens, parks, green zone, etc. in the campus. There are grounds for Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and many other sports. Mechanical Engineering is one of the best departments in our university, as its block, Asutosh Bhavan has all the top-notch utilities.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is best, though living in hostel. Campus itself became my second home to enjoy and hangout with my friends. There are annual fests like Srijan, Sanskriti, Uturn, etc. Different clubs are also present in our campus like Mountaineering club (for people who are interested in mountain climbing), Photography club, Mechatronics club (for people interested in robotics), Finance club, and many others.

    Our university is a tier 1 state public university with NIRF 2024 rank 12th in Engineering Category. Placement is very good (up to 100%) in some departments like Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. Overall placement was 95% last year.     The overall experience of the university is superb. I'll describe each aspect in the later section but here let me give an outline of my experience. Jadavpur University offers the best ROI in India, the fees is just 2400 and getting an average placement of 10 LPA (20 LPA for CSE). There's no 75% attendance policy, 45-50% is enough.   • Affordable fee yet good placements

    I chose this university because it offers us the course with minimal fee and the placement of this university is better than many other colleges and universities. It has ranked 11 in NIRF ranking and it is the best university for B.Tech. It has a pretty nice infrastructure, and the land area of campus is around 70 acres.... Read Full Review

    I think choosing JU is one of the best decisions of my life, as the fees are almost nil and students from arts and science department also present in the campus unlike other engineering colleges, the infrastructure is pretty good, the placement on campus is awesome, the internship and research opportunities are also there, overall, JU is one of the best engineering colleges of our country....
