IIT Delhi is a dream for many students and it is definitely not overhyped. It has all the facilities in great condition like hostels, lecture halls and sports facilities. All the sports including Olympic size Swimming Pool, Short put, Hockey and above all the institute provides you a tag of being a student from IIT Delhi.

I am pursuing a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. As per QS ranking the Mechanical Department of IIT Delhi stands at 50th position worldwide and at second position in India. To get into the course, you need to qualify JEE advanced. The general Cutoff for Mechanical Engineering for 2024 was 1782.

The professors are great, helpful, and caring. There have been many incidents where professors have helped students. All in all, they are very compassionate towards their students.

Yeah, about 80% students appearing for on campus placement gets placed while students also get good offers off-campus as well. The tag of IIT Delhi is much helpful for the long run as it provides an easy boost in the starting years of the career. Talking about Mechanical Engineering of IIT Delhi, about one third gets placement in IT industry while other students’ gets core related jobs, and the rest go for consulting and other jobs. For the mechanical department, I have heard from seniors (not an official statement) that the highest package of a Mechanical Department student was about 60 LPA and minimum was 12 LPA.

Yeah, the hostel is great and provides great food. Bathrooms are also much cleaner than expected.

The campus has a large Lecture Hall complex. The rooms have the capacity for more than 400 students and labs which have all the facilities. The central library is like a temple for students especially during the exams. We have SAC (student activities centre). The Dogra Hall has the capacity to accommodate more than 1200 students. Along with this, there are sports grounds with all the facilities. There is not a single thing remaining at least for me that I have expected and did not get in the institute.

Being located in Hauz khas in New Delhi, you will definitely have a great city life and institute life. The crowd is dynamic. You will come across students with double digit ranks and many other students having some national level talent. There is a great Club culture in IIT Delhi including Drama Clubs, Dance club, singing club, debating, literary, Hindi Samiti, arts, etc. You will definitely get the club according to your hobby in the institute and Rendezvous fest needs no introduction.
