I am sorry, I am saying this but the truth is the truth. I took all the filth positively. Because that inspired me every single day, to do something better in life. Only 2% or the top 2% students who aim for NITs get admissions here. So, the quality of students is unquestionable. But one thing that can be questioned is why most students of Bihar only take admissions here. Even the top rankers of Bihar chose NITs of south, and we never got a chance to see students of various cultures. Yes, there were students from Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. But hardly any from the Western or Southern states of India. We complained about a lot of things that could have gone right at the campus. But after the first two semesters, I loved living with it, knowing that we anyways don’t have a choice. However, there were students who made good use of all the resources that were there. And got placements as good as students of Southern NITs.

Being a Civil engineering student, we always heard one thing that IITR is the best College in India. For civil and secondly it’s NIT Patna. Well, I agree to that because the NITs of the south may have produced better IT engineers. But when it comes to civil, it is NIT Patna. Construction was on during our time and so a live demo was given to us, every single day. Many top companies like NHAI, Jaypee Infra, and Dilip Buildcon. Hire NIT Patna students as interns as studies in civil must exposure. Learning the drawings and all on the computer was rather tough for us. But thanks to our professors, who didn’t raise their hands. But raised voice in such a way that we had to study. And put in extra yards, to learn all that was required to be a good civil engineer. Finally, because it's Bihar, there are evening classes for students. Who were interested in preparing for Civil Service Exams, GATE or IES.

Faculties were highly knowledgeable and shared all their knowledge with the students. The things in which they knew that our intern companies can guide better. They gave us a note on that and asked us to ask them all those things. Everything was well within their grasp because nobody had the power to go against them. They were strict but exceptional at the same time. Because their teaching PyroTechnics need no introduction. They held all the students together, by giving us group assignments. And the groups they formed were exceptional. They were superhumans to me. As they gauged the strength of students and divided the teams accordingly.

Core companies of all branches were there for the placements. For our branch, many Infra and real estate sector companies were there. To add on their list of decorated engineers, who are busy building new India. The pay scale for civil engineers was petty in my books and I didn’t take the placements from the campus.

Surviving at the hostel was like surviving the war. I was around with most of the shittiest students that I could. Most days I had to sleep hungry. The vegetables that they prepared were so extraordinary. That we used to bet on spotting vegetables in the gravy. Also, if you stay at NIT Hostels, you will get used to power cuts more often and especially during the semester exams. I take it positively though, because that made us study well before the exams. The worst rule that I found was that a TV room was available for 1st and 2nd-year students. After that, it becomes important to focus more on studies. Then enjoying Wi-Fi in the hostels or watching TV in the lounge rooms. If I am not wrong, I practiced the hardest in my first two years with all the facilities available. When the time came to relax, we were deprived of the facilities.

NIT Patna has 'Ganga' at its back. Thus, NIT automatically is a tourist spot for many tourists. Our College was close to Patna Civil Court. Therefore, the area is always crowded. Buildings were built during British time, so many buildings have British architecture. Many new buildings have been constructed, especially all the hostel buildings are new. The campus is one of the oldest and oldest in architecture. Along with new-made buildings, the campus looks like an attractive piece of art. All the networking technology of the campus. Were controlled by the best building of the campus. And that was the 'IT Service Unit'. The campus had such a big ground. That 2 matches of different sports could be played simultaneously. Well, there’s no magic in the Infrastructure of NIT Patna. But the one with the perfect combination of Ancestorial and Modern Infrastructure.

Remember NITs are about fests and events, but not NIT Patna. As this Institute wasn’t meant for all this. Study part was covered exceptionally well, in addition to some mighty fine faculties. It was their teaching and blessings with us that had made some students excel in their life. Playing sports was one good part. And having food at Goplag’s canteen, was the only other good part of campus life at NIT Patna.
