An Honest Review of IIT Guwahati

Overall Rating
IIT Guwahati is a great institute. It provides many opportunities for students to study and learn. Being an Institute of National Importance, it has state of the art facilities (both academic and sports). The institute has good infrastructure and professors are good.
 

Academics Rating
You have to attend all the classes in each semester and you have to pass in all the subjects in order to get the degree. One can get admission in this institute through JEE Advance.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of all the courses consists of TA, professors, and few assistant professors. The faculty is highly skills. All of them are knowledgeable and possess good teaching skills.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is active. Students are placed during 4th year. Almost everyone is placed and is able to find opportunities to continue his/her education or job. The cell is mostly run by students and consists of a few professionals. Every year, major companies visit our institute and placements take place.
 

Hostel Rating
There are multiple hostels in IIT Guwahati. Every hostel is good and each of them has a GYM, canteen, a shop, mess, and common rooms for the students. The hostels needs some renovation and can be improved.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is good. However, renovation is required at some places and some places need a complete overhaul. The infrastructure overall is above average and good enough. We have a lot of lakes, mountains and the mighty Brahmaputra river alongside the campus. The campus has many food stalls and food options (available 24/7). One can eat at the mess, canteen or at any street food point in the campus. The campus also has a multi-cuisine restaurant and other restaurants
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is great in IIT Guwahati. Many activities and events are organized here.

    Overall Rating
    IIT Guwahati is one of the top 7 IIT’s in India. It has overall 9th NIRF ranking and 7th ranking in engineering college. It has one of the most beautiful campus across all IIT’s, academic pressure is a little bit high but manageable. Faculties are highly educated. Hostel life is very good here. It has good infrastructure but some building are under construction. Overall, I would say, it is worthy enough to take admission at IIT Guwahati.... Read Full Review

  • The only Northeastern IIT (Guwahati)
     

    Overall Rating
    IIT Guwahati is one of the top 7 IITs in India, the only IIT in northeast India. I chose the institute based upon my JEE Advanced rank (CRL: 1597) which got me into ECE IITG. ECE being a circuital branch and in a primary IIT is always a priority for most JEE aspirants. The college location is away from metropolitan city life.... Read Full Review

  • IIT-G: Northeast India’s Most Beautiful Campus
     

    Overall Rating
    I was getting Biosciences and Bioengineering in IIT Guwahati, having an average package of 18 LPA at that time, I took that. IITG is top 7th IIT with charming green campus in the lap of North-East India, and Brahmaputra ghaat. Placements stats are also incredible as compared to any other options.... Read Full Review

    IIT Guwahati is located at a distance of 20 km from the city of Guwahati. It is known for its most beautiful campus, magnificent greenery and a viewpoint from where you can see the whole campus, and three major lakes. The campus is completely safe as there are no harmful animals and also you can find guards at every point. It is built over the total area of 700 Acres, where all the basic amenities are constructed.
