Life at SVCE is a great experience

Overall Rating
My overall experience in this college has been really amazing. There are not many restrictions, and the faculties and seniors are friendly and helpful. The college has a lush green campus which is well-maintained, and they give equal importance to academics and sports.
 

Academics Rating
To get admission, you need to score above 190 for CSE branch and the counselling will be done through Anna University by DOTE. The college offers various courses like Automobile Engineering, Bio-Tech, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
The department of Computer was established in the year 1985 and has faculties who teach Big Data, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security and they also offer Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Courses. Most of the teachers use smart boards and research papers are also published by the faculties.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we do have a Placement Cell at our institute, and it is active. The cell put their best efforts to get you placed. They give importance to all the branches and companies.
 

Hostel Rating
I am a day scholar but all I do know about the hostel is that there is a separate block for girls’ hostels and they can't go outside after 6 and without parents’ permission. I would suggest that students should visit the hostel itself for better insight before joining.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Nothing is more pleasant than exploring a library. There is also a departmental library. The timings for the central library are from morning 8:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M in the evening. There are also digital libraries available which have e- resources including the NPTEL course which is newly introduced. You can take up to seven books and have to renew it weekly or else you will have to pay a fine. There are other facilities available as well according to the requirements of the students.
 

Campus Rating
There are many active clubs like Rotaract club, eco club, photography club, music club, dance club, care club, NSS, YRC, NCC, Red ribbon, etc. Also department clubs are also active like ‘compute to compete’ and ‘ACE’ from the CSE department. Also, there is an Entrepreneurship promotion and incubation center which helps entrepreneurs. Other clubs include Tamil Mandram speakers, forum science club, standards club, ISTD club, ISTE chapter, etc.

    Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering really has some good and positive vibes. As you enter there's a lot of greenery which always makes you feel fresh. The college has good infrastructure that is the reason behind me joining this college along with it having an old legacy. The other reasons include popularity in Chennai area and of course good placement opportunities.
