Best Medical College from My Perspective

Overall Rating
College of Medicine and Sagore Dutta hospital is at 6th position in West Bengal during counseling. Overall, it is the good as it is in the mega city Kolkata, which has its own benefits. The campus is cleaner than many medical colleges of West Bengal. Academics are good in this college as we have exam every week. The seniors are helpful and it has the environment to study. The hostel is also good condition.
 

Academics Rating
To enroll in MBBS, you have to clear NEET exam with good rank and then attend WBMCC Counseling for state quota seat or MCC counseling for All India quota seat. The academics of the college are good. Recently Sagore Dutta won the Anatomy quiz held at Medical college, Kolkata where 18 medical colleges of West Bengal participated including AIIMS Kalyani. Therefore, you can understand the academic situation here is very well.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties of the college are very much serious and fond of teaching. They are never late for classes. They always keep on checking if we are understanding or not. However, the professors in West Bengal keep shuffling among the colleges of state. The professors also personally guide the practical classes and they make sure that no one is missing out in understanding.
 

Placement Rating
There is nothing called placement in MBBS. You have to do a compulsory Internship for 1 year for which you will receive a stipend. In addition, after that you may join here as a House staff. However, after MBBS you are a doctor, you can earn from different sources but there is nothing like placement like in Engineering.
 

Hostel Rating
As college is comparatively newer than other medical colleges of Kolkata, the hostels are in good condition. In 1st year, dormitory is provided but from second year onwards, a two-seater room is provided with a mirror Almirah and study table and bed for each person. The hostels are cleaned regularly.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is comparatively smaller but the infrastructure of the college is actually well planned. The library is massive, classrooms are huge, and the auditorium is huge. There are 2-3 canteens as the college is comparatively newer. We have 2 ponds, which look aesthetic.
 

Campus Rating
The college is situated in Kamarhati, which is 7 minutes away from Beranger metro station. Therefore, as you are in the megacity, you can explore lots of malls, cafes, clubs, and other places for entertainment. The college is closest to Kolkata airport and well connected by train, metro, bus, and autos. There are celebrations for Saraswati Puja, and many other festivals along with cricket and badminton tournaments. Overall, you will have a nice 5 years here.
