The overall experience at NFSU is above average and students who are really interested in the field of Cyber Security should choose this university because the course is quite aligned with the industry standards. The subjects for each and every course are uploaded on the official website of NFSU so you can check from there. Also, the other advantage for NFSU is that presently, there is not much competition for the admission so students can easily get admission.

The course in which I am enrolled in is B.Tech + M.Tech Computer Science Engineering with specialisation in Cyber Security. There are two ways to get admission in National Forensic Sciences University, one is JEE and the other is NFAT. NFAT (National Forensics Admission Test) is the entrance exam conducted by NFSU for admission which will be based on the merit list. There is a separate merit list and counselling for admission through JEE. If I remember correctly then the cutoff for Gandhinagar campus through JEE for General Category was around 96 percentile. One thing to note here is that out of the 40 seats for the course of B.Tech, M.Tech, CSE, 20 seats are through JEE, the rest 20 are through NFAT and out of 20 seats from both of the entrance tests, only 8 seats are there for General Category, rest of them are reserved for Categories like SC, ST, OBC, PwD, etc.

All the professors teaching here have done their Ph.D or are doing their Ph.D and I can say most of the faculties hold a really good grip of the subject they are teaching. Although, it may not align with each and every student's learning style but yes, they are good. The style of teaching for every subject except math is kind of the same. The professors teach through PPTs and then they share it over a Google Classroom which students can access later for their reference but for math classes, students should take notes, otherwise they have to save it in the smart board and then copy it to their device.

Yes, there is a Placement Cell in our university. As far as I know the highest placement package for the School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensic was 67 LPA last year, the median package was around 13 LPA, and the lowest package was 8 LPA. One thing to note here is that the placement package for each department is different, so one needs to verify it from their own interested department.

Yes, there is an on-campus hostel, but the rooms are not enough for the number of students. The fee structure of the hostel is more expensive than the tuition fee itself. The fee for AC rooms is about Rs.98, 000/- per semester and for non-AC rooms, it is around Rs.60, 000/- per semester including mess. There is a table tennis table in the hostel for students to play and there is a sports complex which is on campus only so we can go there as well. At the start of the year, only one or two students opted for hostel rooms from each course but then the vacant seats were filled on the basis of first come first serve.

About the infrastructure of the university, each department of the university has their own center of excellence. Apart from that every department has their own blocks and there is a library as well. The library has almost all the reference books we require and there is a separate library where we can do self-study as well. There is an indoor sports complex as well and includes 2 badminton courts, two table-tennis tables and you can play basketball as well. There is sports week once a year where students compete in different sports like badminton, Kabaddi, basketball, cricket, football and sometimes unofficial tournaments are also organised by the students. One of the downsides about the infrastructure is that the mess is very small and there are many students at the lunch time, so it creates a lot of rush. The library is also small and during the exam time, not many students get to sit in the library. These things should be improved.

Till this year there was severe shortage of active clubs but then many students came forward and took the initiatives to make those dormant clubs active again and start some new ones as well. The number of fests here are pretty small but many regional festivals are celebrated. The students here belong to almost all the parts of India and there are some international students as well. International students come from countries like Mongolia, Angola, Africa, Portugal, Nepal and Canada but they are less in numbers. The best way to make campus life interesting is to make friends from different departments so that you can get to know what else is going on in the campus and take part in different activities.
