Netaji Subhas University of Technology is one of the best government engineering universities in Delhi. It is a more tech-oriented university so you will find more people pursuing DSA and other tech courses to get a job. Due to the increase in the number of seats in the past few years, the student crowd has increased significantly which makes university crowded at all times. I chose NSUT because it was much closer to my place as compared to other universities. Also, it was convenient for me to travel, and attendance did not bother me from the start. The diversified student communities and societies made a significant impact in my personal growth. The Junior-Senior relationship taught me so much about university and overall life. There is pretty much everything to explore in academics as well as non-academics, which can contribute to your growth positively.

Netaji Subhas University of Technology offers a variety of courses. It includes B.Tech, B.Sc, BBA, M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, etc. In order to enroll in B.Tech, JEE Main CRL is considered. For M.Tech, GATE score is considered. For B. A and B.Sc, CUET score is taken into account. I am currently enrolled in a B.Tech program and for me; I had to come under the top 2-3% percentile in JEE Main to get admission. With this score, I got Electrical Engineering at NSUT. The course curriculum is more like any other regular Electrical Engineering courses. The standout point in the course is that it is more tech oriented as compared to the traditional course curriculum. Electrical engineering offers three minors i.e. Renewable Energy, Power Systems, and Power Electronics.

The faculty at NSUT is decent. Some are associate professors and most of them are really interested to teach you, and they seem to be very friendly. All of the faculty has done their Ph.D from IITs and have decent level of knowledge. All of them are very strict about attendance, assignments, files and projects. They don't even hesitate to detain you even in your final year but the guest faculty and Ph.D scholars are less strict.

The university has been known for its campus placement packages but due to economic slowdown there might be some decrease in placement offers.

The university charges around Rs.50, 000/- or above as hostel fee for each semester. The infrastructures of the hostels need to be improved including some of the facilities at boys’ hostels such as hard water supply and there are Air Conditioners or coolers. The security is tight in hostels and no other person apart from the hosteller can get inside. If you sneak in and get caught, then you will be fined accordingly. You can also live in PGs nearby university.

In the main campus, there is one library, one gym, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, one cricket ground, one football field, 3 main blocks for engineering branches, 1 block for design, one computer center which is connected with BBA block. Labs for ECE and CS departments are pretty good and the apparatus are also in good condition. For the Electrical department, since it's a new branch, the apparatuses are new and maintained decently. There is one big lecture hall building consisting of eleven smart lecture classrooms which has been built recently known as APJ block. There's one more lecture block consisting of 4 classrooms which is known as Smart Block.

There are a lot of clubs related to every field that you can figure out. The crowd is smart and keen to learn and is like a typical university crowd. Dramatics, Debating and Entrepreneurial societies are most active among others. The alumni network really helps you a lot in surviving the university. Seniors are very helpful, and ragging is not done. As the university is pretty strict about attendance, you might have to manage your time accordingly to hang out or to work with your friends in societies during normal daytime. The fests are awesome and one of the best in Delhi and the crowd of Delhi makes it even better.
