My Life in SIT, Tumkur

Overall Rating
I am 3rd year student currently pursuing BE in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. My experience in this institute in past 2 years is remarkable as I got exposure to the engineering world where everyone is eager to work and develop innovative projects and contribute to the development of the nation. I was searching for institute, which has placement record. I just add this institute into my counseling list and I was selected in 2nd round. If students are looking for good institute with good placement then one should come SIT.
 

Academics Rating
About the course, that I have chosen is Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation 4 year course. For entry in this course there are two common entrance exams that are accepted here i.e., KCET and COMEDK. Those who are willing to join this institute can enroll through management quota too. The eligibility for a particular course depends upon that year cut-off ranking those who fall in that ranking can enroll this course. Cut-off ranking will be shared by the institute once the counseling starts.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are supportive and friendly. Each faculty in SIT has PhD degree. Their way of teaching always as practical approach for concepts. Every faculty has publications and guides each student for research & projects. They clear every doubt that is associated to the course and concepts and they encourage us to have good projects.
 

Placement Rating
SIT placements are very good, SIT is well known for its placement activities. The average package is 7 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, SIT has 4 blocks of hostels. Each block is for engineering students for respective years. Management is quite good. I can say quality of food is average. Hostel fee is reasonable compared to the facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very large. For each Engineering Stream, there is distinct building and separate department. The campus also has cafeteria, canteen, auditorium, and media centre. The campus is covered with trees, which makes surroundings beautiful. SIT has its own stadium that also has indoor games arena and GYM.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of SIT is very good. Crowd is very decent. There are many clubs like technical, theatre, and music. Technical club organizes many technical events and conferences that are very beneficial for students. Anyone can join to these clubs through selection process. There are 2 institute fests, one in the month of June or July as it's a summer fest called ‘Halcyon’ and other in the month of November called ‘Spandan’ and it is a cultural fest.

    It is rightly said that God doesn’t give everyone all that they desire. It was my dream to study in Bangalore, but even after getting good numbers in GATE, I fell short of getting admission in Ramaiah Institute of Technology, which is why I had to take admissions here. SIT is in Tumakuru, a town around 50 miles from Bangalore city. Tumakuru is a town and not as urban as Bangalore.
