All About IIIT Vadodara

Overall Rating
I am a second year student at IIIT Vadodara Gandhinagar. Since it has been 2 years, my experience is fine, as we do not have our own campus. We face issues like transportation and food as our hostel located near a village Palaj (near IIT Gandhinagar). The institute is presently running in a government institute. Regarding studies, it is just ok. In our hostel, mostly 1st and 2nd students reside while others live. Hence, choose wisely as placements are good with highest 40 LPA, 30 LPA, 25 LPA and median is 10 LPA.
 

Academics Rating
I am from Computer Science. There are 2 courses here: CS and IT. In first 2 years, we have same subjects. In 1st year, you have EC Physics, Information Technology, Math, Humanities. In 2nd year, Computer Science is added, and physics is removed. Entry is based on JEE Main with minimum 98 percentile for general and 97 for OBC and 80 above for SC/ST category. As both are related to computers, you will gain vast support in academic and growth.
 

Faculty Rating
All the professors have PhDs from top IITs. In addition, teaching levels are good. Even sometimes doubt sessions are conducted. Teaching style is also good.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a placement cell at IIIT Vadodara. It also provides paid internship and training programs during 3rd and 4th year, which are must according to latest settings.
 

Hostel Rating
No, we are residing in a residency near a community taken as lease.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our campus is running in a government-Engineering institute located at outskirts. While permanent campus is being constructed and would be ready in 2 years. Currently, we are allocated 2 blocks and all the academic sessions, programs, and events occur here. Each block has 2-3 floors. Since it is government facilitated, utilities are not up to mark.
 

Campus Rating
Coming to events, our institute organizes 2 big events that are good enough. Recently, It also has hackathons. Student strength is up to 240.

    Overall Rating
    IIIT Vadodara is a good option for students who achieve percentile about 98 in their JEE Mains. The faculty here has excellent educational backgrounds and is a great help to students. This institute's campus is under construction and the classes are being held in GEC, Gandhinagar temporarily. The institute focuses on computer based courses, i.e. CSE and IT. The environment for coding is really great here. There is no ragging in this institute so freshers would have no problem related to ragging.... Read Full Review

    Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara is a great college. The education here is very good as the topics or courses they choose to teach us are great and far more before that time which is an advantage to us. It has their temporary hostel and mess which is due to the lack of permanent campus. But construction of permanent campus had been started.... Read Full Review
