My Perspective of SASTRA University

Overall Rating
The university provides great knowledge. I am satisfied with the university and friends I made in the university.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen ECE branch, as I wanted to be in the core Electronics sector. The entry in the university can be taken in two ways. One through JEE entrance exam plus 12th standard marks and second through management quota. There is location quota that is Thanjavur or Trichy quota available and Tamil Nadu quota is available, where students of these regions are given first priority.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculties here are PhD holders with minimum 3 patents. They are very experienced and skillful. They want us to be perfect like them. As our exams are mostly application type questions, they strictly stick to the core part and its application, while teaching. Some faculties are very friendly.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell. Placement rate is around 90% and average package is 6 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel is available. however, the rooms don’t have ACs. The food inside is pure vegetarian.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The university is very big, built in approximately 250 acres of land. There are different blocks available (Engineering Blocks, Arts Block, Polytechnic Block, and many others). Other facilities of the campus include Library, Canteens, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Basketball Ground, Volleyball Ground, and 2 indoor stadiums. All Computer labs are air-conditioned.
 

Campus Rating
There are 2 fest conducted in the campus. One is Kuruksastra, which is inter-college cultural fest and ‘Daksha’ that is inter-university technical fest. both of them happen in even semester .The intra-university fest is conducted in odd semester. There are many clubs available like NCC, NSS, and RED CROSS.

    Overall Rating
    I have chosen this university as it takes both the JEE score and 12th score in to the account of admission. The campus is reputedly marked for its placement opportunities and it stands unique in some of the aspects. It provides a huge support in research areas too.
