Good experience at Government Doon Medical College

Overall Rating
Government Doon Medical College is a good college in terms of academics and infrastructure. The college has a lot of facilities related to the extracurricular activities and the social life at the college is also very good. Additionally, the college is located in the city of Dehradun which is a great place to be in.
 

Academics Rating
One needs to qualify the NEET-UG exam to get into this college. The admission process is based on the rank secured in NEET and after selection the candidate has to register for the counseling held for the admission. The 85% seats are reserved for the students of Uttarakhand and the rest is for All India Quota.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of the college is very good and approachable. The teachers have a great style of teaching, and the practical aspects of the subjects are given a great importance as well. The internal exams are held several times throughout the year which helps the students to prepare for the university’s professional exams.
 

Placement Rating
There are no campus placements as such. Once done with the MBBS, one can either work in a government hospital or in a private hospital. Also, the students can also go ahead and pursue their post-graduation.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel rooms are in a good condition. There are 2 air-conditioned study rooms in the hostel for the students. The entire hostel is under CCTV surveillance and 2 guards are always on duty for safety and regulation.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of the college is very good and well developed. There are lecture theatres, administration block, library block and auditorium building in the campus. The lecture theatres are well-maintained and air conditioned. There is also a canteen and an indoor badminton court in the college.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life at GDMC is very good. Every year the sports and cultural fest is held in the college, in the month of October-November. Apart from these events, the leagues for various sports are also held throughout the year. There is an availability of the gym in the college and numerous other indoor sports.

    The college is situated in Dehradun capital of the Utrakhand state. Academic session started in 2016 and its 4 batches have passed from the college recently.
