Personal Opinion on SGSITS

Overall Rating
SGSITS, established in 1952, is one of the top institutes in Madhya Pradesh, offering a strong academic foundation with diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs in Engineering and Sciences. Known for excellent placement opportunities, the institute attracts top recruiters offering competitive packages. Students benefit from modern facilities which include advanced labs, a well-stocked library, and a vibrant campus.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Fee is very less for the placements offered, so it's definitely value for money. I chose this branch because it opens two paths for me, I could go for software and also for the core. The curriculum is up to date as the college is autonomous. Semester exams are tough but you can score decent by solving previous year papers and reading class notes. Passing percentage varies from subject to subject.
 

Faculty Rating
Mostly, the old professors are really knowledgeable. Their teaching sense is extraordinary. But then, the new faculty members are not up to the mark.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have a training and placement cell at SGSITS. Around 65% of the students get placed from Electronics & Telecommunications while others prepare for competitive exams like GATE, CAT, etc. The highest package offered was 37 LPA and lowest was 3.5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, and Deloitte.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are very old and not up the mark. For 1st year students hostels are average but in 2nd year the hostel is below average. Although, you will get mess food which is good along with sports ground and computer centre.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure too is very old and needs refurbishment. The Library is quite good. The hostel it is just okay. There is Wi-Fi and the canteen is good.
 

Campus Rating
There are fewer events in SGSITS. The management is strict. Beyond academics, SGSITS also fosters holistic growth through various clubs, cultural events, and technical fests, supported by a strong alumni network.

    SGSITS is one of the top engineering Institutes in Madhya Pradesh.     I attended my first class on 19 September 2024. The professors are very good in both knowledge and other support. Also institute is also very study oriented and other co curricular activities are also organised here.     It's been 2 months at SGSITS Indore, and I found it as a very good institute. A lot of greenery is present in the institute. The campus is decent and is located in the centre of Indore city.
