My Journey in Indira Gandhi National Tribal University

Overall Rating
Talking about the overall review, the faculties were a mix of average and below average, infrastructure was best, weather of the area was best because of hilly climate. Sports and libraries were of top quality. I chose to take admission here because it is one among the two central universities of Madhya Pradesh, besides Dr. Hari Singh Kaur Sagar University.
 

Academics Rating
I got admission in B.Sc with three subjects, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. To get admission, one has to qualify the CUET undergraduate examination. One also has to be passed class 12th with Biology as a subject. My motivation to enroll here is pursuing research in science & gathering experiences of rural tribal life.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty, were a mix of good, bad, and excellent. Some of the teachers were excellent because they enforce discipline and quality teaching while some others were below average. Most of the teachers were graduates from central universities, some also belonged to IITs.
 

Placement Rating
Placements need to be improved to much extent in Indira Gandhi National Tribal University.
 

Hostel Rating
There were three hostels for boys and two for girls. Boy’s hostel has no entry time limit while girl’s hostel used to get closed by 6 PM in the evening. Hostel has Wi-Fi. One room was shared among three students. It has its own integrated mass facility. Hostel life was best.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure was par excellence as per best standards. Roads were well built, separate faculties with Auditorium, laboratories, there was also an integrated mess Sammakka Saarakka mess for all there was Central Library named Dr. Ram Dayal Munda Central Library. There was auditorium named Dr. Laxman Hawa Noor which was quite. There was livelihood Business Incubation Centre canteen and another canteen called Shastri canteen.
 

Campus Rating
University life was the best part of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University. Students belong to almost all the states of India, be it Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, UP, Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, etc. We celebrated all the festivals like Onam, Deepavali, and Holi. There were also other celebrations like Parroting Day celebration.

    Overall the University is good. I want to give this University the title of the cheapest university of India because of its affordable nature. This University is located beneath the Amarkantak hill station with very cold weather and peaceful environment. But it lacks proper facilities such as good city exposure.
